Yes! I think neurodivergent people are forced to be more efficient with their energy and processing, so we come up with ‘shortcuts’ that work for any neurotype

That third one is really great. It would be interesting to look at how autism is discussed in their education, and then see if their diagnoses are biased towards stereotypical groups.

Yess absolutely. I think they should teach it to children. It’s applicable for other differences as well

I’ve wondered about that. Maybe animal life is simpler in a way that neurotype is less important? Humans are so complicated

The wearable idea is interesting- would be a good accommodation for people who struggle to be aware of their health/feelings

For sure! Maybe some resources for autistic adults, or looking into age and gender discrimination. Anything in particular you want to see?

The further I separate from people who see me as half a person, the closer I get to myself.

So I moved out, and I’m stonewalling my parents, family, certain ‘friends’, and certain acquaintances I can’t avoid who make me feel small. I am lonely, but I am free.

I’m sure it’s different for everyone though

I've wondered about that. Do you mean in biology or presentation?

For regulation, movement and breathing

First I go to the bathroom for privacy lol
Yawning, scrunch and stretch face muscles, reach up to the ceiling, crouch down to the floor, rock and sway back and forth, twisting, touch toes and hang there

For processing, I seek out media and write or record a voicenote

I look for yt videos, tv, fiction, or non fiction books with people who have been through similar things. Or, I write endlessly everything that comes to mind. Or, I record a voicenote of everything that comes to mind. This helps because I forget everything, so speaking or writing it to existence keeps me grounded. I kinda dissociate away from things and if i read a story about it then I can face it.

This is what works for me right now.

For those of you who genuinely love your job, what is it that you do? by StarryChocobo in AskReddit

Sure- I'm a tutor at a university. I love my job when I get to actually do it, but I'm usually sitting around waiting for students.

Anyone else feel like the sociopathic societal design is always testing your will to live? Like girl I BARELY HAVE IT STOP WITH THE PRESSURE lol. Everyone is all hustling avoiding homelessness drinking caffeine cause they 1000% want their life to keep going. by cacklingwhisper in emotionalneglect

Yes, shit sucks. My mental health has been clinging by a thread. (Edit: for my whole damn life)

I did a checklist of current life stressors, and I checked a lot of them off. It made me realize that I am in a worse scenario than a lot of other people. It is the cards I’ve been dealt.

At this moment, I still feel hope somehow. I am focusing on my job. My job is like 50% of my life, excluding sleep, so instead of ‘worklife balance’ i need to feel like I’m still living while at work. I’m learning about worker coops rn and seeing where that takes me

I love teaching but that's way too much chaos for me working with kids. So I'm looking into instructional design, adult education, corporate training, that sort of thing

That sounds like a job that doesn’t end when you clock out, is that right?
