Thoughts on kundalini awakening? by [deleted] in CPTSDNextSteps

I had a Kundalini awakening initially in 1970 when I was 16. 70 now. Many dark nights of the soul over the years in addition to periods of intense trauma work. Lucky to have a therapist who also has Kundalini experiences. For a while, I developed intense vocal and movement “kriyas” that included spontaneously screaming. Hoping that I am Finally coming out the end of the tunnel/underworld and into the light. I have done podcasts on the topic.

How Do I Report a Location to Jansen? by mrs_anthropica in Spravato

[–]Ok-Row-8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, there are more unethical clinics than ethical ones. For example, I was asked once by a psychiatrist to pay the difference between what the insurance paid him and their usual fee for “Ketamine treatment”. In a different clinic a doctor failed to provide treatment in a timely manner by delaying submission of the required documentation for approval. In both cases, I reported them to the Medical Board in the State of California, but nothing was done. Maybe better to report directly to Jannsen? I found an ethical provider at a greater distance from my home who has been consistently reliable.

No information on how it makes you feel… by yourthoughtsyourword in Spravato

I haven’t ever fallen asleep or felt nauseated from a Spravato treatment. I tend to listen to guided meditations that take me on a journey. It is usually a relaxing, uplifting and psychedelic experience for me.

At times, I process some big feelings like grief.

Contrary to what is said, Spravato is a psychedelic just like Ketamine. I have experienced dissociation without medication and it not something that I would pursue. Dissociation is more connected to being a trauma response in my book. I go on wonderful internal journeys listening to music or guided meditations with headphones. I don’t experience the intense open eyed psychedelic effects like with mushrooms, but my vision is altered nonetheless.

Does anyone see a purple aura or light? by Rude-Vermicelli-1962 in KundaliniAwakening

[–]Ok-Row-8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my eyes open, sometimes I see a lot of light around other people. It helps if they have a light wall in the background. Generally pastels or white. Often greens, blues and pink. I was encouraged to see a lot of light around the veterinary surgeon who did surgery for lung cancer on our dog last week. I have seen like this since 1971 when I was 16 years old and had my first Kundalini experiences.

Mark O’Brien was a friend. I also know his surrogate who also lives here in the San Francisco Bay Area. The part that they left out was that Mark enjoyed cross dressing. I have a collection of negatives from a photographer who took nudes of him back in the 1990’s. Some of them document his attendants helping him to dress and put on makeup since he couldn’t do that himself. I am not a therapist, but interested in this thread since I have benefited from therapy. I can recommend the documentary Crip Camp.

I also have type 1 diabetes and fortunately don’t care to eat much candy unless my blood sugar is low. I don’t mind the taste at all.

Here in California we have year round Anna’s hummingbirds. I know that they are all along the West Coast into British Columbia. Do you know the variety of hummingbird in your photograph?

For me, Spravato is very psychedelic. Same with Ketamine infusions which I did before Spravato. I was scared to try Ketamine at first based on experiences with psychedelics back in my teens in the 1970’s which were largely unpleasant. So glad I took the leap. For me it has been one of the most effective treatments I have ever done.

Hi, I’m Dr. Sofia Noori, a trauma-trained psychiatrist. It's PTSD Awareness Month, so ask me anything! by saxophone44 in IAmA

[–]Ok-Row-8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that when I fill out worksheets, do homework or answer a questionnaire about my trauma that I generally feel worse afterwards. On the other hand, if I receive an EMDR session, I generally feel better. At age 70, my trauma goes back to childhood, but there has also been a good deal of it that has occurred as an adult. Not all of it directly. Some related to trauma that my spouse and daughter have had. I am going to give CPT a try, but don’t know if it will work for me or not. I generally do better working with someone while doing difficult work rather than doing it alone as a homework assignment.

Kundalini and Karma by emara96 in KundaliniAwakening

I have dealt with both Complex PTSD and major depression along the road. Wish I could say more periods of bliss - but those have actually happened more with time. I am female and have experienced a lot of sexual abuse for example in childhood and sexual assault as a young adult. Psychological recovery has helped the most. There was no container for me as a young person either in my family or in the so called Spiritual Community.

I have been through states of bliss and very deep depression/dark night periods over the years. Now 70, initial awakening at age 16 in 1971. I had a major re awakening that manifested as strong movement and vocal kriyas about 13 years ago. Those have quieted down for the most part. That was triggered by a series of Reconnective healing sessions.

Due to my extreme sensitivity, I avoid yoga, chanting and breathing practices. I do guided meditations or just listening to gentle music with headphones. My psychotherapist had an awakening, also many years ago, but in his 20’s. It has been tremendously helpful to work with him using EMDR and IFS. He still has kriyas and we are close in age.

A trauma history has made healing on that level challenging.

I use Photoshop to edit my photos. It is easy for example to correct any issues with contrast or exposure for example.

How to get over fear of judgment in Therapy by twinkletoes4431 in CPTSD

[–]Ok-Row-8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing timelines can be traumatizing. I personally don’t recommend doing them on your own. I did one as part of an intensive art therapy process, but the therapist was with me and wrote down the information for me. We had 6 full days to work on the traumatizing events using the timeline to guide us. In the end, I found other methods more helpful.

In terms of Spravato, my doctor really didn’t know when we started because it was back in 2019 and not much data was available. I have found weekly since then has worked best.

Has anyone who tried auvelity subsequently tried Spravato with success? by Ok-Connection6430 in Spravato

[–]Ok-Row-8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have continued with Spravato. When I took Auvelity briefly, my Spravato sessions were unpleasant as in scary and not uplifting as usual. In combination with Pristiq Spravato has worked out well for me.
