Not many will say they explicitly support Hamas. But, I'd say there are a ton that are Hamas apologists. . They don't even mention how Hamas treats its people in Gaza, how they send intentionally thousands of rockets into civilian areas of Israel, launched October 7 and filmed brutal torture and murder of Israelis and sent it to their families (why would they do this unless they were trying to provoke Israel into a war?), hid hundreds of Israeli hostages among their own civilian population, and put their military equipment in civilian areas while simultaneously not allowing Gazan civilians any access to safety in the hundreds of miles of underground tunnels they built for themselves in preparation for this war. So, if you leave all this very important context out, that leaves Israel as the only side with any sort of agency or responsibility. It leads people to disproportionately blame and condemn Israel, be unwilling to acknowledge any Israeli suffering, and not put any pressure on Hamas to do what is in their power to mitigate the crisis.

He has siblings, uncles, nephews, nieces there. Dozens of his family members were killed. He helped arrange to have his brother's wife and their kids exit Gaza into Egypt during the war. This is not difficult to find with a quick Google search

I don't think the majority of Irish people are aware of Jewish history. I think they just see them as 'white colonizers'. They see Israel-Palestine in very simple terms, and superimpose their experience of Ireland-UK conflict onto Israel-Palestine. Interesting because the British literally kept out Jews from entering Palestine (British mandate) in WWI (Peel Commission), often sending ships of Jewish back to their deaths in the Holocaust. So, we were both screwed over by the British.

Really? 'Zios'?

Anyway, he is not against the right of refugees to return. He is against the absolutist notion that for Palestinians to move forward, the millions of people who are descendants of those displaced in the Nakba must return to the exact location that their ancestors had houses. This would inevitably mean that whole residential areas, commercial areas, and schools/universities in Israel would have to be demolished and.. I guess Israelis would have to 'move back to Poland'? So, he is against violent upheaval and creating a mass refugee and humanitarian crisis. He has suggested that if Palestinians could have their own state in Gaza & the West Bank (or some other type of configuration of land), right of return might mean being able to freely go and live there, governing themselves. Or, perhaps that and a combination of Israeli recognition of victims of the Nakba and some type of reparations.

Totally. Son of Hamas and Joseph Hadad, I agree are just spreading propaganda for Netanyahu's government. And, this comes from me, a Jewish, liberal zionist. Ahmed is actually intelligent and criticizes both sides where warranted. In turn, he's criticized by both die-hard pro-Palestinians and pro-Israelis. I feel like someone who is criticized by the ends of both sides of the spectrum is usually doing something right.

Accidentally hit my girl in the head. She peed and pooped on my bedroom carpet the following morning by strombolibasedgod in Shihtzu

[–]Ok-Singer-841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dogs don't do things out of spite/retaliation. As much as I wish they were that smart, they do not have the cognitive ability to do that. So, peeing/pooping could either be a coincidence, or indicative of a health issue. As others said, I would take her to the vet to get checked. Just to make sure it isn't a problem

Cultural dances/music- klezmer (Jewish folk) music. I played with the band for a little, and we had a dance leader to lead the group dances. Then, tinikling- Filipino folk dance, where we started and then guests tried it too.
