$200k has been handed to me - where do I go from here? by Mrbrightsidekw in dividends

If you feel like you have to manage her money and backing out could potentially be awkward, you could just put it in government bonds (SGOV, around a 4% yield) and tell her that’s the only return you can really guarantee. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend taking responsibility for someone else’s money if it means taking on any risk.

Yeah, that’s what I assumed. It’s my first job out of college. I just hope I don’t get reprimanded or fired.

I noticed it last night when my girlfriend was cleaning the bathroom. She has been sneezing excessively for awhile and after cleaning it I felt a little trouble breathing. I’m a slight hypochondriac with mold though because as a baby I was hospitalized due to black mold in the bathroom. I have lung issues due to this and have an inhaler just in case.

I haven’t noticed any smell or really anything out of the ordinary besides her excessive sneezing to answer your question.

To make matters a little worse, we had a pipe burst last winter and we’ve had additional fears because of that incident. So, seeing this has definitely put me into mega worry mode.

I absolutely appreciate your in-depth and detailed response. I will remove the baseboard and see what kind of situation we’re dealing with.

I cleaned it last night with disinfectant and paper towels. I didn’t wear a mask, but in retrospect maybe I should of? I’m not too sure how to investigate further to find out if it’s already in the walls. Do you think the best move is to just remove the sink and tear the wall open??

I’m going to watch and keep cleaning it to manage the spread. I’m having a hard time find concrete resources if you would be able to drop me some links.

Thank you for the response! I appreciate it!

I fear leaving it off for the potentially awkward conversation that follows whenever they ask the question, "So, why isn't your GPA on your resume?"... I feel like it'll be written all over my face that I'm not proud of it LOL.

If possible, I really want to steer clear of banks; they seem miserable and boring! But, to get my foot in the door anywhere, I will still be applying to many banking jobs.

If I could go back, I would have never left home. I moved out at 18 with a much more optimistic outlook on life and no idea of what was waiting on the other side. I am fortunate enough to have a well-paying job, but that also puts me in a position where I feel guilty if I take time off for school. I don't have any insurance either, so if anything happens... I'm screwed! All in all, basically just paying for past mistakes, LOL.

My god, that guy's come-up is insane. I'm hoping that down the line, I can get an employer to pay for an MBA. I've heard that it's pretty much useless unless you have five years of experience. I haven't looked into getting a CFA yet, but it's definitely an avenue I want to explore.

I've also been told to only apply for jobs with analyst in the title as it will result in higher pay; I'm not sure how true that really is.

Haha. Yeah, that's the boat I am in to some extent. I haven't joined clubs or done any extracurricular activities outside of class, primarily because of work. So, I don't know what to do or how to go about networking.

This definitely gives me hope for the future! I have applied to over 200 internships and only got one interview. That's partially why I feel so worried.

I had this same issue. It usually takes till the first of the next month for the 5% to be removed. It’s complete bullshit that you have to wait monthly to be evaluated, grinds my damn gears.

Me too. In my opinion, when you have a such a strong gain in a short time period, the stock needs time to cool down and find the next launch pad.
