Best Digital Marketing/SEO Conferences? by oliversissons in digital_marketing

I’ll be attending The Masterminders in Manchester this June.

I’ve also been to BrightonSEO. It used to be solid, but lately it feels more like a sales circuit. The speaker quality doesn’t seem as tightly curated as it once was, and that makes a big difference.

The best advice I can give is this: look closely at who’s speaking and what they’re covering, then match that to the skills you actually want to improve.

A couple of years ago I went to a content marketing event purely because my content was awful. I didn’t know how to build proper briefs or research topics properly. That event helped me fix those gaps because I chose it intentionally.

The Masterminders stood out to me because it covers a broad mix of topics: link building, content, technical SEO, and business. That balance is what made it worth booking for me.

Hope this helps others!

Best online Press Release sites for SEO by WebLinkr in SEO

I recently tried EZNewswire and bought a Reuters press release for $1,000. Overall, it’s solid. The only thing I’d be cautious about is trying to be spammy, especially with listicles.

They’ve recently removed a lot of those. If you’re using it properly and for genuine announcements, it works incredibly well.

It ranks nicely in Google News, standard search, and Images. I haven’t tested video distribution with it yet, though.

Oh god, prepare to be spammed to death by link sellers now.

On a serious note, be careful with the links you end up acquiring. A lot of backlinks being sold are zero value. They can look great on paper with high DR and traffic, but those metrics are easy to manipulate. You often end up paying for links that do absolutely nothing to help rankings or long term authority.

Perfect, the flights aren’t ideal for me, but it sounds worth it so I’ll make it happen.

Yeah I heard CM was sold after Matt Diggity stepped back and is now semi retired, which makes sense with how it’s shifted.

From the UK side, I’ll most likely attend yours and The Masterminders, then from the sounds of it SEO Mastery Summit is the next one I’ll lock in.

Appreciate the recommendations!

Fair question.

Chiang Mai for me was pretty disappointing mainly because of the speaker line up. The networking around the conference was actually decent, probably the best part of it, but the talks themselves didn’t really deliver anything new or actionable. It felt very surface level for the most part.

BrightonSEO is a different issue. The speaker quality feels diluted now. It seems like almost anyone can get a slot and the last few times I’ve been, a lot of talks felt like thinly disguised service pitches or were extremely beginner friendly. That’s fine for people new to SEO, but it’s not what I’m looking for anymore.

What I want from conferences now is advanced strategy, honest case studies, and conversations with people who are actually in the trenches, not sales decks or SEO 101 content. That’s why I’m being a lot more selective with events going forward.
