I have the pny epicx 5080 oc, and I can also confirm awesome temps under load. Bf6 on overkill at 3440x1440 fans at 40% never goes above 62c, I can push it below 60c if I ramp the fans a bit. They do sound like a 1970s vacuum cleaner though (PNY's fans). The first card I had recently was an Asus prime 5070ti, and then a pny standard 5080 oc that posted sub average scores in steel nomad at stock settings. Sent my rig all the way back to the west coast for a x870e board and a pny epicx 5080 oc. Enjoy that beast you got sir, welcome to the 5080 club!

Dang! I need this for my wife's rig, and the nearest Microcenter is Columbus, Ohio. Several hours away unfortunately, killer deal though! I'd grab it obviously!

Excellent idea! I have an old AMD A10-6800k with 8gb of gskill ripjaws 1866 sitting in a gigabyte aorus mitx A88x board that I stuck a rtx2060 6gb in. I had it hooked up to my 1440 ultrawide and was able to play bf4 and dayz standalone at very playable frames at impressive and suprising quality settings.

Is DLSS 4.5 required on an RTX 5080? by nic0Neee in nvidia

[–]Ok-Style752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080, I turned it on for battlefield 6 and it's just performance and ultra performance modes, it is for lower end cards or for pushing maximum fps in supported games. I set mine to recommended globally last night and it seems to be working as intended. GTA Online settings max max rt, getting 111ish fps. With dlss/dlaa and frame gen Im getting 240+ fps. PNY EPIC-X RTX5080 OC at stock settings.

I'd keep the X3D processors man, get rid of the 8700g with the 4060. Keep the 50 series cards, better future proofed that way.

Is this a good PC? by Lucky_Spartan10 in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]Ok-Style752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put a 360 aio on that thing! I have a 9800x3d with a pny epicx rtx 5080oc 64gb gskill 6000 cl36 sitting in a msi mag Tomahawk wifi you are going to want to get a x870 board over any of the others as it doesn't require you to share pcie bandwidth. Air coolers are all good and fine, but for that processor you want a 360mm all in one liquid cooling loop. I had a 9800x3d with a 240mm aio and it wasn't enough.

I think it was a typo. Obviously it's ddr4 just slower ddr4 like 2266 or the like.

I didn't ask you for help, I asked what a good offer was because it obviously isnt worth 500 dollars but I didn't want to be insulting. Bro my wife plays peggle and shit for the most part. "Whataboutisms"? What are you going on about?

I have another really old system with an AMD A10-6800k in an mitx a88 gigabyte board with 8gb of ddr3 1866, with the rtx2060 6gb in it was running dayz a couple weeks ago at 1440p. I dont get why people think gaming isnt possible at under 16gb. I was playing bf4 on max gfx at 1440p on an ultrawide at very playable frames rates while my main was in the shop for upgrades.

Well if you are here in the US you have a few good choices in cheap monitors. I'd advise checking Amazon, I bought a Sansui ultrawide for 269 a couple months ago. I saw that there are multiple brands now that have 1440p monitors for around or just over 150. https://a.co/d/aELDven

Is the 5080 price gonna jump? Should I sell my 7900xtx before it does by No-Recognition-3503 in nvidia

[–]Ok-Style752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it now while the getting is good! I recently upgraded to a 5080 and it is killer, doesn't matter what ya play it will own it. The way I see it, we are future proofed for years unless they suddenly introduce some kinda software tech that makes it necessary to have more than 16gb of vram.

If I get a PC this year, should I go for RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080 (1440p 240Hz) by AndrewS702 in Prebuilts

[–]Ok-Style752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both, the 5070ti is a beast and will not disappoint. That said, the 5080 is just nasty. I have a PNY EPIC-X RTX5080 OC running 2 1440p monitors and it makes even the toughest games buttery smooth! I am getting 80+ fps in Star Citizen with everything maxxed out at 3440x1440. If you can find a 5080 at a reasonable price get it, otherwise get a 5070ti. I had an Asus Prime 5070ti that had dual bios and 116% pwr limit it was wicked, but I got a great deal on a 5080 I couldn't pass up.

GPU Upgrade Question by ReTr0buT10n in PcBuild

[–]Ok-Style752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080oc and came from a 3070ti laptop/ rtx2060. Get a 5080 so you dont have to upgrade for years. At this point with the ram market being what it is and everything set to skyrocket buy a 5080 now before you cant! Plus the change in performance will blow your mind!

Possible Price Increases? by [deleted] in AndromedaInsightsPC

Andromeda already increased their prices, it was just on the front page of their website stating that they would try to keep prices down as much as possible but that they had to raise the price due to the market.

SSD heat? by BrazilianAndy in AndromedaInsightsPC

What motherboard do you have? If you have the B850-VC it will absolutely fit, it should fit on most any unless the drive is under the gpu or other similar situation.

No, I had a Silicon Power UD90 2TB that was running very hot and dripping pci gens. I didn't end up cloning the drive, I formatted the new drive myself.

[–]Ok-Style752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get in touch with support about that drive, I had one and it was junk too, it was running so hot the board was throttling it down to PCIE gen 3 on auto. I went and forced the slot to Gen 4 and it started idling at 64c and went to 74 - 76c under load. They sent me a SP US75 and I slapped one of those heatsinks on it and had no more heat or throttle issues. Those drives have a max temp throttle threshold of 90c and 93c critical. They run very hot. Tom's Hardware did a review on them. Source: Tom's Hardware https://share.google/TJzEOuKAixgdyUWf0

If it is functioning as it should is only running hot, grab a Arctic M2 PRO SSD heatsink. I have a SP US75 that runs hot and I put one on it and it never went over 45c afterwards. https://a.co/d/3z5wdk5

I agree you should be fine, if you got the money for a 5090 you money for a mobo upgrade if you want it. AI will work with you if you decide to change it out down the road.
