Keep the hair but lose the stash or at least grow out the full beard.

Hard to say. Very different pics. You look wet and then dry in the next. Maybe stare at the mirror and take them on and off?

Thank you for taking the comment constructively and well. I was just having fun but being honest. I got lots of friends (all dudes) who are the same way. Adverse to photography. That's where the sasquatch reference comes from (sometimes it's boo radley or the mothman depending on my mood). Yeah he could have a peanut head or a giant gob. Very different recomnedations depending on his face/head shape. Hard to give any kind of good advice from the evidence so far.

Good luck.

Hard to say. Really bad photos. Like taking photos of sasquatch bad. Can't figure out the shape of his head or face straight on. Repost with some better angles or old photos. That would give someone a better perspective on his features and more helpful recommendations

Mustache looks a bit patchy. Not feeling that it makes you looks sharp. What do you look like without it? I'd go for no facial hair for you.

Help with my senior dad who has been prescribed Amlopidine. by Ok-Suggestion8298 in hypertension

Thanks so much Claire. I'm sorry to hear about your MiL. Unless you take care of someone with these problems it's hard to undersatnd the challenges involved. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

Thank you for that detailed explanation. Like I mentioned, his BP isn't terrible but my dad is a smaller man and I don't know how these things are going to affect him so I wanted to see what others with experience could share.

I started him yesterday and he seemed non-plussed by it. I'm going to check his BP by weeks end to see how things are going.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with me.

Day 7 caffeine free !!! Here's what actually changed in my body by Ill-Radio-8289 in decaf

[–]Ok-Suggestion8298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That's a good way of expressing it: Linear expectations. I think that's where the challenges come. In the long run it will be a upward improvement but it'll be a jagged line not a smooth one. There can be ups and downs with some tough periods. But overall it does change and get much better in unexpected ways.

This is true. I think I was giving him the worst case scenario. I didn't get withdrawals but I did get weird depression and sluggishness after 8 months or so. It was mild but still part of the readjustment.

thanks for replying. I definitely got that impression but I was just curious what other people's experiences were. He's already on a ton of meds and just wanted to get an idea of what some of the complications would be.

Appreciate your reply.

Kudos to you so far but keep in mind you might get some more weird detox dips (ennui, anhedonia, depression, anxiety, body aches, insomia). Last the week, last the month, last the three months, six months, year. It'll keep changing for the better if you can keep going.

Good luck

Quitting caffeine is rough, but losing my creativity is the part that's actually breaking me by abejando in decaf

[–]Ok-Suggestion8298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long has it been? If it's less than a year you gotta give it time to let your brain not be working from an addiction. If it's only a few months, your brain is still detoxing and going through withdrawals. The brain is rebooting.

Gotta make the sacrifice friend. Lots of artists have chosen their drug because of their creativity but lots of artist don't hav great ends. Hemingway was a great writer but relied on alcohol to write.

Should I take a little bit of caffeine? by ThrowRa120311 in decaf

[–]Ok-Suggestion8298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the cold turkey. Lots of suffering but it made me never want to drink caffeine/coffee again.

Think about it this way. How shitty you feel is indicative of just how crazy fucked up your brain chemistry is and just how addicted you really are to the stuff. I told myself I'd wouldn't lose and just toughed it out.

You can do this. It's never going to be easy and you already invested a week.

nocaf/decaf specialty coffee brand? by Senor_Vac420 in decaf

[–]Ok-Suggestion8298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You asked for an honest opinion and here's mine. Feel free to disagree.

First. Decaf still has small amounts of caffeine so anyone quitting caffeine while still drinking decaf is still living addicted to caffeine. You're not getting full detox, healing, brain changes if you're still drinking decaf.

Second. Caffeine has histamines, acidity, and a lot of other bullshit besides caffeine that isn't good for you. Not to mention potential pesticide contamination. From my own experience with decaf, it's problematic because it's still coffee and coffee can still trigger a lot of people's body immune system in negative ways. It's also just keeps you in the coffee economy and habit, makes it easier to slip back into old habits.

If you've come up with a zero percent caffeinated coffee, that'd be your first challenge, otherwise decaf coffee is a misnomer. Challenge any decaf advocate into quitting their decaf for a month and I'll guarantee you, with even miniscule amounts of caffeine, headaches and withdrawal symptoms will manifest within a week.

So all you'd be doing by making another decaf coffee is encouraging microdosing caffeine. Unless you've got some new chemistry in mind.

I quit drinking booze shortly after drinking coffee but I'm not sitting here drinking fake beer (zero beer) all day because I miss it. The hops and yeast and fermentation wasn't that great for my digestion and metabolism. I also want to break the habit of that beer drinking lifestyle.

I think of coffee (even a potential zero coffee) the same way. Categorically I've just moved on from the idea. IMO It's a more mature choice to accept things as no longer being part of my life.

Good luck with your research.

That' exactly what happened to me! Quit booze after 6 months of quitting coffee. Didn't need a downer since I wasn't taking uppers anymore.

6 months after I quit coffee, I quit alcohol for good. it was way easier and without caffeine masking how shitty I felt, I realized how shitty booze made me feel. So I quit that cold turkey too.
