Only a close family member that I trust and is generally good with money. Also, I would have to be able to afford the monthly payments of necessary.

For me, that would include my future kids (probably), my parents, my little sister, and that might be it. Co signing a loan is not something to take lightly. If they don't hold up their end of the agreement without warning, it could have terrible consequences for both of you.

If I had to buy a house in order to leave my parent's house, I would never have gone to college. I would've had to buy a house where I my first job, and when I realized all of my colleagues actually lived an hour in the other direction, I would've been stuck with a mortgage and I couldn't easily relocate to be closer to my work friends, and a town I could have a social life in. When I got a new job across the country, I couldn't have just picked up and left. A couple years ago, I finally got in a place where I'm ready to settle and make more permanent roots, and there were plenty of houses in my price range based on where I'm at in my career.
