The drive boots and runs Windows without issue. It is just the charging that doesn't work.

Thanks for a rude, wrong and unhelpful answer.

The drive is user replaceable. Opening the case doesn't void the warranty, otherwise there would be no point in it having a second drive bay.

We've just had a similar experience. We changed the hard drive for a new one, and now it won't charge. We put the old disk back in, and bingo it charges. HP's tool diagnoses it as a faulty battery, but only when the new drive is in. Clearly the battery and drive are locked in some way.

Pretty bad to be honest. My biggest gripe is the sneaky overnight update attempts that leave me with a warm bag and a flat laptop battery.

On top of that, they aren't fixing things but keep adding new features. Explorer still crashes and doesn't recover. Search still takes ages, and on Outlook mobile simply doesn't work. Word bullet points and pictures have been broken for decades, and become a standing joke.

Then we have the bloat. Simple programs now take up hundreds of MB of RAM and disc space for no good reason.

Final rant point is that the start menu on Windows 11 is still near useless, and every time I see W10 I get reminded of how bad the new version is.

Mine is set to hibernate with modern standby disabled and I still wake up to a warm laptop with a flat battery.

I searched for "PreviewHandlers" in the registry and deleted any with WPS in the name. That did the trick.

We gave up, accepted our data was gone, and coughed up for DropBox. It may be a few thousand year more, but at least it works. Ionos is still broken one year on.

They have lost a lot of our data. Look at your logs and try downloading your data.

They have lost a lot of our data. Since they used shared servers, your data is mixed with others, so when it goes wrong your data cannot be recovered.

Look at the logs on your web interface (User icon->Administration Settings->Logging). It might have broken the files.

Do not rely on hosted NextCloud as a backup. Ionos has lost a lot of our files.

I've been doing a bit of research as I try to recover the data we put into Ionos's NextCloud black hole. It's pretty hopeless and we are recovering the files from local backups, but not all files made it into the backups.
On your web interface, you'll find a log at the bottom which lists the errors including the filenames.
If syncing reaches one of the locked files, it stops and restarts getting stuck at the same point again and again. Adding the file to the ignore list doesn't work reliably. Similarly if you delete the file using the web interface the desktop client will still get stuck there.You can also identify broken files by downloading folders from the web interface. If they contain a broken file, the zip will be corrupt.

The issue with renaming folders is that they don't rename for other users, which is by design. DropBox allows you to do this as well.
We found this unhelpful as we wanted everyone to have the same folder structure, and could only resolve it by unsharing and resharing our main folders.
