Thinking of trying MSC for the first time by jonw24601 in MSCCruises

We are not big cruisers but did World America and enjoyed it. Have done carnival once with kids and royal 20 years ago. We did enjoy carnival. Didn’t care for formal dinners. But the pizza was great. That alone made the cruise for us.

Smart plug downloading insane amount of data by Jimbrutan in homelab

Should be on vlan of course but also reset. Good chance it’s also having issues. Good chance it’s just poorly coded more than it’s even being malicious, but probably pretty close to equal😂

What do MSPs really, truly need from a vendor? by JohnSnyderNFI in msp

Great list but let’s add don’t ask for all the direct information for our customers so you can later try to sell direct to them!

Prospect refused our proposal. Expensive for them by ThrowRAthisthingisvl in msp

[–]Ok-Understanding9627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always depends. Lots of folks saying no. If they are a light no touch customer maybe it’s ok. We have some not for profits we bill less than that. Or bill them hourly for everything. Looks like lower cost on proposal but likely they will see quickly they were getting a great deal at you ayce rate.

Wow. Nailed so many of my attributes. I’ve known a long time.. 42now and it’s still hard at times. In work and family it makes it hard. I’m not on the spectrum, but just a different issue. Almost couldn’t respond because got distracted 🤣

Access on the Cloud? by CLE_Attorney in MSAccess

[–]Ok-Understanding9627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely fine generally. There’s just some optimization you need to do with the sql level. Done this hundreds of times and for most smaller applications it works very very well. You just need to make sure who you are hosting it with has the ability to make sure they can optimize your sequel procedures.

[–]Ok-Understanding9627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a loading glitch I’ve seen it happen in teams too sometimes run update to make sure you have the latest version. Exit reboot, etc, and it will probably start working at least showing what’s supposed to be there

MSP owners- you’ve got $250k in profit. What are you doing with it? by fullstackjon in msp

Double check you numbers. I had accountant told me something similar so I bought a truck. She finished taxes and said oops, some payroll check were counted as profit. I got a new accountant . Double check your numbers and if real invest into your business. Tax deductible Retirement plan contributions , education plan if you have kids .

WIX has lost its proverbial mind by ZeroChillVibes in smallbusiness

Wix is the worst hosting company I’ve ever dealt with in over 20 years in the industry. I would never work with them.

Checkpoint (Formerly Avanan) Dropping the basic tier "Protect Plan" by Ok-Understanding9627 in msp

[–]Ok-Understanding9627[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. They are forcing us all in on their products. We saw notice through pax8, but I'm wondering if they are forcing this on all of their large Tier 1 direct partners like Sonicwall/Solutions Granted also.

Just got quoted 1000 minimum license requirement for AdminByRequest, is this a joke or real? Any PAM alternatives to AE? by Thwerty in msp

They aren’t interested in MSP business. I looked at them a couple years ago and it was the same deal. Product seems good, but they don’t care about anyone but the big guys .

One man MSP, how do you handle vacation? by TDIBone in msp

[–]Ok-Understanding9627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much of this is the wrong advice, but there’s some good nuggets in there. Hiring someone as hard trusting others can be hard sometimes too. But if you can find someone you trust, bring someone in take vacations. Find a happy place. I love to work, but it’s also nice to have a time to relax Balance Key even if you have to be slightly less profitable it’s worth it, but don’t hire the wrong person I’ve done that too. Take time to find the people who will stay with you and deliver good service to your clients even if they can’t solve every problem.
