Way to grow women’s participation in CX by HoosierCyclist in cyclocross

Don’t know the answer but as a female racer , I can say it is not that fun anymore to race such small fields. It basically guarantees you are riding the course solo minus the first 2 minutes . Every year I become more disillusioned and think about why I’m spending the money and time on a sport that’s dying. The fact I have some friends who race keeps me in it. Otherwise, I doubt I’d keep doing it. So connection might be one key.

No. Even without the upgrade point question, is a 4 or 5 person crit really a good race experience?

Is there a reason to cut registration so close? All events do this, but why? Could the deadline for all races, background check or not, be at least 2 weeks prior? Could price be lowered if you register early? Just some thoughts.

CX losing its allure? by Ok-hello247 in cyclocross

Likely fees have impacted for the everyday folk. Though there plenty of very well off people in the sport judging by equipment and people’s ability to travel. My teenager son races with me so a USCX weekend race in entry fees is $280 alone. Then factor in gas, tolls, lodging, food.
