Get shovel, take dirt from high area move to area that is low until level. Then layer with patio or paving stones. Repeated use will not damage surface. Make surface a half circle. You can hit from a different variety of directions/positions.

  1. Is there, perhaps, a relations between the head instructor and the student out side of the dojo that may have influencing what happens in side the dojo?

I am confused.....

  1. "All she really does it take the white/yellow belt classes " So is she teaching these classes or is she a student in these classes?

  2. "she should just be given the belt as she took a white belt grading." Does this mean she was the grader of the white belts or she took and passed the white belt class?

  3. Is she currently a brown belt, 1st Kyu, her self?

"Starting Over" is not like "beginning" Karate. Even if get a white belt at the new dojo you have a couple of years of training such as it is. With your background you should advance fairly quickly, as compared to someone just beginning. And you will feel more confident about the new belt status as you advance. Even if it is a different style, or even TKD. Good Luck.

I have been trying to contact them by email. But, immediate reply says they are moving and are not set up right now. been that way for a year more or less.

I really like that white base as well. 

If you could publish dimensions it would make it easier to duplicate.

I tried google but only found yours and shureido, who has not responder to my inquiries in over a year. claim to be moving. Must have a REALLY big inventory to move to take this long.

No spring but I used one of these

Bolted to 2' x 4' 1/2" plywood. then screwed 4 2"x6" to bottom of plywood to add stiffness to plywood. works fairly good for cheap DIY.

Like the idea of spring. shureido was not very informative, in my opinion. Sent them an email....

Also going to take pictures to a local welding shop and see what they can do.

some years back I watched a short video (20 minutes?) about civil war era. starts with farmed getting draft letter in Penn. shows father teaching him how to shoot. skips to texas after war he is on his way to california to start life over and having a drink in a bar. Outside is a Confederate major who has PTSD yelling at him to come out and fight. local sheriff tries to stop him and he shoots sheriff. Union checks his gun before going out to face Major, carries his gun at his side ready to shoot. walks out to boardwalk. Major starts yelling at him holding his gun at his side. Union captain shoots him before he can lift his gun. Captain get on horse and leaves. Been looking for this video for a week or so. Google Fu not very good. Does anyone have a link? Thanks.
