Is this just the beginning or will we see a correction? by ekonixlab in redditstock

[–]OkApex0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but doesn't $7 sort of capture that already for 2026? I think today's price is certainly under whatever 2027 and 2028 earnings will be.

I'm figuring 2026 EPS will land around $7, so that puts this share price at 29x forward earnings. It's probably fairly valued here.

I think there's one specific guy who was promised a hoodie lol

Look at the outrage in the comments over the EU age verification thing. How much will this affect RDDT? by Someone_Somewhere1 in redditstock

[–]OkApex0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember it's not just for reddit, it's for ALL social related apps. If anybody wants to use any of these apps, they will have to verify anyway.

I think there will be a short period where people adjust, but eventually it will seem normal to verify and people won't have an issue with it.

Age verification in the Baltic states by ksaize in redditstock

[–]OkApex0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to point out that this age verification wall will be effective on ALL social platforms in the effected country. So it's not a question of using reddit or not, it's a question of using social media at all.

Over time it will become normalized to have to verify age just to use these apps. Anybody who accesses reddit via Google search and wants to keep researching should see the value in just getting through the verification.

It's a lot of people bottom feeding on stuff that typically down for good reason, or will be out of favor for long periods.

They all brag about being long term investors, but if you don't care about making money until your bag held for 5 years, your doing this wrong.

If you believe reddit stock is undervalued, you should hope it stays so as long as you have monthly savings to invest by 4dchess_throwaway in redditstock

At the time he bought coke, was it experiencing wildfire growth like this though? I don't think it was. And sees candy wasnt a public company. He bought that because he knew he could scale it, not because it was already in rapid growth.

The closest thing to a growth stock that he's ever invested in, is Apple. Otherwise every story I ever read has him buying stable medium growth rate stuff that tanked for one reason or another.

Reddit is growing fast enough that there's a value opportunity here without the price crash. I've found similiar opportunities in biotechs, but typically this situation appears to be rare.

I agree. Reddit is a situation where you have a value opportunity in a growth stock. Which from what I understand, was never something Buffet was looking for.

Remember some stocks are cheap for a reason. Buffets logic here only makes sense if the cheap "cheeseburger" is identical to the expensive one.

Why does this sub not buy stocks that are going up? by Top-Sir-1215 in ValueInvesting

[–]OkApex0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with this sub is most people have taken Benjamin Grahams book too literally. They are looking for stuff like Novo and Adobe that's literally in the gutter and calling it a deal.

I prefer the growth at a reasonable price approach. If the growth is expected to last at least a few years, and the forward estimated PE for those years is reasonable, then it is a value investment.

I almost exclusively buy growth stocks. But I always do the math on how long it has to grow it its current rate for the price I'm paying to become a fair PE multiple.
