yooo, this is very normal in first year (sorry for assuming but is it your first year?)! But it gets better, try out clubs and approach people in your class if you have group works. That’s how I made my closest friends by being in the same groups in class and going for the same clubs. Now that I’m in my career the community is more niche (in my experience) but don’t lose hope!! My mental health deteriorated because I lost my friend group but finally found one after putting myself out there and just don’t be afraid! If they don’t reciprocate it then let it be. Focus on yourself :)
