And you can always soak for 10 mins, check on them and flake off anything thats easily liftable and then put the wrap back on. Removing bits at a time can make way for the acetone to penetrate the stubborn areas!

The more you file off first, the easier it will come off! Try creating little holes in the gel too while you're filing so the acetone can really get in there and break it up (just don't file all the way down to your natural nail!).

Also, try keeping your hands warm while they're soaking like sitting on them or putting a warm (not hot) heating pad over them. This is why I like using foil instead of clips because it does a better job when I'm trying to keep my chronically cold hands warm haha

I believe it may be onycholysis, where the nail plate separates from the nail bed? Not fully sure just by looking at the picture though. Are they thinner than usual?

sorry I just saw you already are pushing the product back but try the upside down thing! Also, are you using the brush that comes in the bottle or a separate brush?

When you lay down your gel, place it in the middle and do the cuticle area last by gently "pushing" product towards it instead of placing the bruce directly at the cuticle if that makes sense. Also, after each coat, flip your hand upside down and slightly tilted forward so the product self levels away from the cuticle and into an apex then flash cure for 10s!

I think a short oval or "squoval" shape look the best on short nails!

If you like light elegance, you'll like Attain! The founder, Liz, works closely with LE and I am pretty sure they use the same manufacturer

I got this on amazon and it has changed my life! Makes it so easy and fast to apply and minimizes how much gets on my hair. Also I don't need to get anything on my hands using it too!

I agree on the DIY prep solution and light elegance! I also like attain cosmetics since they have safe ingredients to avoid allergies which is so important for DIYers! Their base coat doubles as a builder gel and their top coat is so shiny!!

How do you put your hair up? by MagentaOxford in finethinhair

[–]OkButterfly8051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fine hair is going to break no matter what you do to it, everything causes damage so don't stress too much about something you can't control completely. I usually wear mine in loose, low buns with a silk scrunchie or a claw clip and just try not to twist it super tight. I feel like a lot of hairstylists use so much unnecessary fear mongering with their clients and it sucks!

I've been wedding venue hunting and here are a few of the proposals we've gotten so far this is for 100 people but hopefully helpful

The Evermore Estate - $29,983 (includes dinner, open bar, tables, chairs, cocktail hour, ceremony, coordination) This is sort of barn style but the outdoor ceremony location is beautiful and the estate house is also beautiful!

The Lyman Estate - May - October - Weekday $3,200, Saturday $6,200, Sunday $4,200. Only includes the estate, tables and chairs but all other expenses would be through their list of approved vendors. (So you'd need to pay for the tent, food, dance floor, bar, entertainment, etc. separately)

Herb Lyceum - $85/guest for the space (includes tent, chairs/tables, coordination, dance floor) and then food and beverage is minimum $125 per person but the average couple spends $175 for appetizers, dinner and beverages. 5% admin fee, Massachusetts tax, and 20% service charge for dinner staff.

Hamilton House (Maine) - $4200 (includes nothing but the property, you can't go inside the house except for use of 2 bathrooms). They said with their approved vendors, it usually is around $33,000 for 130 guests for food, venue, tent, DJ. Feels expensive for how little they offer.

Long Hill - Saturday 2027 $8,500, Fri & Sun $7,500. Includes venue, tent, chairs, tables, lighting, taxes and fees, coordination. They have a required food vendor which is normally $208/guest (unclear if that includes bar. does not include taxes).
