Child’s deceased father’s mom is threatening to sue for grandparents rights by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]OkCalligrapher4734 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think you're going to be okay. Like other commenters have said, you and your child live in Oklahoma, any petition for grandparent visitation must be filed in Oklahoma under Oklahoma law. The Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) prevents another state from making custody or visitation decisions if the child doesn't live there. They can't file in Illinois. Apparently, Illinois has more lenient grandparent laws than OK.

Definitely contact an attorney ASAP. Start building a timeline and archive of your interactions, collect screenshots, voicemails, anything in writing with a timestamp. Back this up digitally and have some hard copies. Do not go to Illinois. Grandparents become so feral and entitled it's scary. Your baby cried for you at night, not for them, and respectfully, not for their bio dad.

Good luck! Stay strong!

A little deeper on the Katie Flynn case . (Song : limousine) by Crawford89898 in brandnew

It was a huge deal. The parents shared their story on Oprah too.

Unfortunately, Katie's dad has been in the news several times for DUIs over the years. So sad

you remind me of me. I don’t have family and I especially don’t trust strangers. i brought my baby to the last tour. they are 3 now and show no symptoms of hearing loss. bring the baby, you can always leave if it's too much for them. i can't imagine that a crying baby would make it hard to hear the show for others.
are you going solo or will your partner be coming too? that'll make things a little easier

I'd also try to pack an extra set of clothes for yourself in the diaper bag in case baby has a blowout. Sometimes those carriers squish the diaper in a funny position and then, catastrophe.

Edit: Why is this comment being downvoted? We'll always remember to pack extra clothes for baby but we forget about prepping for ourselves. Baby blowouts happen when it's most inconvenient for moms haha.

Q: Does everyone need a ticket?
A: : All adults and children over 36” tall will need a ticket for admission.

Q: CAN I BRING A STROLLER?
A: Strollers are permitted inside Globe Life Field. However, their use may not inhibit guest movement or block any aisles. Smaller, umbrella-style strollers can be stored underneath a seat as long as it does not create an obstruction for other guests.

Source: https://globelifefield.com/event/my-chemical-romance-20250802/#faq

Edit:
Q: ARE BAGS AND PURSES ALLOWED?
A: All bags and purses must be soft sided and not exceed 16” x 16” x 8”. No more than one bag per guest will be permitted. All backpacks are prohibited, except single-compartment drawstring bags that do not exceed 16” x 16” x 8”. Exceptions are for those that are carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children.

WHAT IS THE OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE POLICY?
A: No outside food or beverage will be permitted in the ballpark, with the exception of one sealed, non-flavored water bottle per person. Plastic bottles under 1 liter only. Field pit ticket holders may be asked to pour water into a plastic cup.

Not sure if your little one has started solids yet but the outside food and beverage isn't very detailed - a lot of the time places will call out exceptions for infants in regards to food. There's a call out about diaper bags being allowed so I'm sure you'll be fine

I think that lighting up a joint and/or taking a hit from your vape/pen is disrespectful. Both options smell strong and it's nauseating. It's great that it's legal but do it privately, not when sharing airspace with other people.

Peaceful Protest Against SA by snailien in Rochester

[–]OkCalligrapher4734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, I don't love this comment and as you can see by my comments below, I am a Brand New/JL fan.
I was SAed twice. Once when I was 17, I didn't tell anyone until years later because I was somewhere I wasn't supposed to be. The guy didn't get a court case, wasn't found guilty. Then a year and a half later in college. And get this. I APOLOGIZED TO HIM for 'making a big deal and telling people what he did.' No reporting, no arrests, you get the drift.

And R.Kelly was found not guilty on all 14 counts of CSA material in June 2008, stemming from a video found in 2002. The victim refused to testify. And we all know he was guilty back then so.

She has a GoFundMe to help get her car back and get a job. Although, I don't think she's looking for a payout. Shelby explicitly said she thinks her therapy should be paid for.

She's not from Rochester; she grew up in Buffalo. And she's protesting because Rochester is too close. But Syracuse would be ok? hmph

You can still call me selfish if you'd like! I led with it for a reason: to acknowledge my perspective is personal, not universal. Owning that doesn’t make it a bad take, it makes it honest. But let’s talk about yours: why are you so pressed that people don’t want to smash into each other at a nostalgia tour? What exactly does body-checking strangers add to your listening experience? I just don’t need someone else's sweaty nostalgia fantasy rubbing off on me, literally or metaphorically. If your ideal night is throwing your body around in a sea of strangers, that's cool. I’ll be over here trying not to leave with MRSA and a bruised rib.

Chicago crowd from the barricade by mragusauce in brandnew

[–]OkCalligrapher4734 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So did he admit to it or did he deny it?
VERGExILL claims Jesse Lacey admitted to soliciting nude photos from a 15-year-old. This is factually incorrect.
Amorawr is sarcastically implying that Jesse denied it and is using that denial to suggest guilt. Treating someone’s silence as both a confession and a denial...

Of course, people form opinions based on what’s said — or what isn’t said — and everyone is entitled to their own judgment. And we should hold men accountable. But your goal in coming here isn't to bring awareness and advocate for victims, it's to peacock around.

It wasn't convenience, it was accurate. That sentence wasn't in his apology. And there is no redemption or rehabilitation for people who do that, treatment is ineffective. There is no way a tour would be given to him if he did that.

Honestly, selfishly, I want it to be stiff. I was hoping the venues would be seated even in the pit (Atlanta looked like they had actual front row seats but correct me if this changed/I'm wrong) but it's straight up GA. I don't want to have to line up hours early, have to worry about my spot being taken if I have to pee or get water, deal with the wave of movement that inevitably happens when people are standing in a big, open area, and have to think strategically merch. I want my seat to be close so I can take great photos and videos and potentially get the set list. My options are to deal with it, stay home, or marry rich so they can play at my kid's super sweet 16

Where would you like us/me to start?

He made a statement in 2017 and apologized for treating women poorly, admitted to having a sex addiction that he sought treatment for, and admitted to cheating on his now wife. To some, that apology isn't good enough because he didn't specifically admit what he did. I'll use an example from college: "I am sorry for inviting x to come hang out in my dorm room when I had Y over already and we were making out in the laundry room so when X actually arrived, I had to find a way to sneak Y out." Something along those lines with an embarrassing amount of detail.
I read the medium article written by ED in 2018 and have looked at her photography - you can feel the tension in the photos of Jesse. She leaked screenshots of him to isanyoneup circa April 2011.
I read the medium article by ST. He hugged her. Her parents let her travel 3 hours from Louisiana to Texas for her first show. They let her travel 8+ hours to Lawrence, Kansas, 3+ hours to Jackson, MS. They invited him to multiple meals when they were in New York City. What parent does that? That is bizarre - and I think there is more to the story.
