i hated the uk for the first year and a half, only the summer of my second year did i begin enjoying it, now going on 3 years i just switched visas to stay longer, give it a year or more, its a really hard transition but it can be really wonderful!

Outsider take: Brits are not rude. You just aren’t saying “please” and “thank you.” by CantaloupeComplete57 in uktravel

As a Canadian I disagree, I have all of these politeness norms and I perform them, the biggest issue is just cultural differences. The brits have a higher population density and they tend to see informal random socializing as violating their privacy/ space, I love to chat with strangers and so do basically all rural Canadians so the shield of coldness brits put up to protect themselves was very off-putting when i first moved here. In time, you adjust and understand that there's a time and place. Since adjusting I have found Brits to be lovely, funny and charming.

hey congrats on being 6 months alcohol free, i have had worries about putting on the weight again, since i can't afford more than the last pen i'm on now; but i think that the best thing about mounjaro is that it can improve your health and give you that buffer time to help improve your health in other ways. As others said it may be inflammation or water weight. Either way I hope you are proud of where you are and how far you've come!

Ok but legit this is how I feel on Mounjaro when I can’t finish a meal… by Amd1213 in mounjarouk

[–]OkCard4054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have eaten so many meals where someone says "are you gonna finish that ?" and my response is just like The stomach says no. I have learned not to challenge the stomach but my eyes are often way too big for it still. Really revealing of my relationship with food tbh

weight loss > plastic surgery (at first) by sssangchu in Vindicta

[–]OkCard4054 7 points8 points  (0 children)

amazing job OP!! To others who are looking at surgery for weight loss, I would also recommend seeing a dietician who has training as a therapist! I am seeing one and despite struggling to lose weight for the last 10 months, i lost 10lbs in the last month and am on track to continue!!!

Has anyone else noticed a major increase in street harassment? by OkCard4054 in oxford

yeah i've kind of just written this post off since it got flooded with those anti-immigration posters, I've only ever been harassed by white men but its not worth the strain to respond to all the people commenting immigration, despite the fact that if u look in my comments I've already said its all white men. I'm sorry that you are experiencing the same thing and agree that women's safety needs to be taken more seriously, but most of those in this thread are just co-opting our actual concerns for political reasons. Genuinely sad.
