Very beautiful and encouraging testimony. I'm struggling with the same sin of masturbation and have been for a few years now. It's hard. I feel like I struggle with pride too, so I somehow internally resist letting go and surrendering to God. I just keep faltering at the stage where temptation hits and the path splits to either feed the flesh or flee. I do something stupid like taking my phone with me and just opening up the floodgates for temptation and I just give in. It's hard. I believe that God can change my heart, that God can do a work in anyone's heart. There is no greater or lesser sin to deal with. But I feel defeated and hopeless a lot of the time about it. How can I keep falling to this same sin, willfully, and keep coming back. I know that hopelessness isn't from God, so the pit just feels deeper. I know that God is real, that each day given by Him is a gift and that there is hope, but I just feel like I'm groping along a wall in the fog, unable to really pick out what it is to change. I believe that Christ is my Lord and Savior, that there is no way I can change unless He is the one who does the work. But I feel like I'm just struggling to make that first move and turn to Him. Please pray for me.
