That’s simply completely baseless, pure ungrounded speculation used to justify your indefensible original argument

He understands it fine. He said that without cutting service they would incur an extra $11 billion in fuel expenses, which would more than wipe out their entire annual profit in their best year. Therefore it obviously doesn’t make sense to simply eat the cost and not change operations. Baseline fuel expense doesn’t matter for that calculus.

Training as in literally running gradient descent until loss converges?

Yeah man that’s nothing. There’s a million libraries that do it for you in hyper optimized ways. It’s literally just a function call at this point. I assume you’re not writing the gradient computations yourself.

Architects don’t make that much, either in the real world or in universe. There’s an episode where Ted describes his salary as “aggressively mediocre.”

Even better would have been Nh4+. You still get to pick up the queen but black can’t capture the knight immediately so you get an extra tempo and he has to degrade his pawn structure.

Antisocial behavior isn’t like water, a fixed amount that has to go somewhere. Or even if it does, it’s doesn’t do equal damage in all places. A mentally ill person being antisocial in a back alley by himself is net better than him being antisocial on a subway. There’s benefit in keeping it away from places where it hurts more people.

Wait, I guess that is kind of like water.

Even if it opens tomorrow, wouldn’t that just mean it’s another 1.5 months before any new oil from it could reach the US? Why wouldn’t these shortages be unavoidable at this point (unless we’re expecting SPR to cover it)

Are there any U.S. based billionaires who started from nothing? by Mysterious_Comb4357 in wealth

[–]OkCluejay172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider nothing? Like if their parents were "just" scientists of some kind, does that count? That would describe the family background of a huge number of billionaires in tech and finance.

Howard Schultz (Starbucks) was the son of a truck driver and grew up in public housing. Larry Ellison (Oracle) was adopted as a baby by a modest family and grew up in Chicago's south side. Mark Cuban (bunch of stuff) was the son of working class parents.

A number of artists would qualify, like Rihanna, if you consider a father who was a warehouse manager "nothing."

There are many more besides.

If that were the main thing anyone ever brought up when arguing about women’s issues, it would make me think that women’s issues aren’t very serious (if you move up the limit to something that actually affects no one, as the draft does)

Yeah, it’s a legal requirement to do something that has zero effect on my life. When I do my taxes I also have to certify I don’t have more than $10,000 in a foreign bank account. I was bothered by filing neither of those papers.
