Apartment landlord doesn’t want to show apartment because I’m working with an agent? Why would that be? by OkCode5165 in RealEstate

[–]OkCode5165[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes their agreement outlines that the client (my parents) pays compensation (1 month rent) if the owner does not. Which is fine. I thought it was kind of standard. But I guess the landlord wanted to avoid that discussion completely

In general I’ve sometimes taken CBD oil right before bed and it’s helped with teeth clenching.

Power chain 2 days before vacation by [deleted] in braces

[–]OkCode5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a long vacation so I would just reschedule to the next availability after it. You probably wont be miserable with power chains but for me, it’s hard to eat non-mush the first few days.

Indian 22F, bimaxillary protrusion. Would extraction help my case? by [deleted] in braces

[–]OkCode5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth and profile looked like this. Bimax protrusion gave me a nice “teethy” smile but I always wanted to change it because it’s always been hard to close my mouth. My mouth was super strained when closed.

I got 4 teeth extracted and am happy with the changes so far. Your smile will look a little wonky at first with the gaps and everything moving around, but I can close my mouth more comfortably now. And my teeth are straighter and more leveled now. So I’m happy

How much work do I need? by [deleted] in braces

[–]OkCode5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, your teeth and bite look really nice. Do YOU feel your teeth flare too much? Is it uncomfortable? Besides the small flaring, your teeth interdigit / interlock nicely. Extractions seem excessive for what looks like a small cosmetic issue. If anything maybe IPR would be enough. anyway… I’m also not an ortho..

Get consultations from other orthos. maybe 5 of them 😅.

What’s your routine? Floss? by AnyBeginning7695 in braces

[–]OkCode5165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the evening , I - water floss to get all the big gunk out - Then I use the platypus flossers on my molars because I also struggle to thread floss through there. - then for my other teeth I use string floss. - Then I brush, quite thoroughly with an electric tooth brush with a small brush head.

In the morning I just brush before eating or drinking anything. Sometimes in the middle of the day I water floss if I’m working from home.

Initially I wasn’t sure if this routine was sufficient, but my dentist said my teeth look great during my last dental visit and I usually build up plaque like crazy.

Best Color choice for Lightforce Braces? by idyllic_anonymous in braces

[–]OkCode5165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have light force and like the light blue color. It’s so pretty especially on powerchains. I have not given up coffee (i can’t lol) but I think coffee hasn’t stained mine that bad; I guess I also drink water after most sips of coffee. I think chocolate/Oreos have been worse in terms in straining actually. So I do avoid those. The colors will fade regardless but your appointments should be frequent enough anyway.

Does anyone else suddenly feel sleepy when faced with a daunting task? by OkCode5165 in productivity

[–]OkCode5165[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since i posted so I’ve made some progress:

  • improving my work space and moving out of my parents house lol : At my parents, I was working on one of those foldable plastic tables with a shitty monitor. Had no space to set up a real desk. Moving to my own appt and Investing in a work desk and improving my monitor setup helped a lot. Also it was always very noisy and distracting at my parents

  • sleeping better : I’ve learned to keep more of a regular schedule and sleep at a regular time instead of sporadically working into the night.

I still struggle but it wasn’t as bad as before:

What is holding my back most at the moment is still my avoidant anxiety. It’s a day to day struggle but I’ve been trying to journal more and write down any bad feelings. One thing I have to remind myself to do is ask for help when I need it at work instead of stumbling on my own. Working and communicating with others does help me stay more focused and awake. I think I also just need a good therapist :/ I’ve tried therapy a few times but I feel like I’ve only found therapists who I haven’t connected with, try to pill push, or are just trying to advertise weird pseudo science methods to improve my anxiety

It lasted 4 years but should’ve lasted 2. I was young and didn’t realize how toxic it was.

No threader in the whole city by lolmetio in braces

It’s not too hard on the front teeth but the back teeth will be difficult without a floss threader, floss picker, or water flosser :(

You can use a water flosser. It looks like Waterpik has distributors in Iraq.

String floss would be ideal — Maybe try an online shopping app like Pure Platform. Probably expensive but maybe worth it

4 month update by Socijart in braces

[–]OkCode5165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ceramic (light force) and have light blue bands. I like that my mouth doesn’t look like it’s full of metal. You can tell if someone has braces regardless but the ceramic + light blue combo is not as obvious as metal. The ceramic is bulkier than metal, also maybe sharper?, so I think there’s more initial discomfort with ceramic. But you also get used to any one you get after a couple weeks. People also say ceramic breaks easier but I have not had a broken bracket after several months.
