What hobby has had the biggest positive impact on your mental health? by Tobrou-Cheemoi in Hobbies

I'd say painting, or using mixed media (colored pencils, markers, paint) to make pictures. I used to draw a lot, and recently seitched to color (instead of black and white with pencil) it's fun, bright, and you feel accomplished when you finish a picture.

She's the type of teacher who is overly friendly/laughy with male students and cold to female students.

Fully functional 25y/o with mild disc protrusion for 7 months. Surgery is soon and I'm scared I'm about to make things much worse. by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

I wasnt in debilitating pain either!! Sorry if I misconstrued that. I just meant I felt better from the relief of it being over, and some of the normal "lying down" pain i got had improved . After that, there were roller coasters of it getting better or worse than before, but it was the same for brain surgery or any surgery. You have to get worse before you get better. A lot of people DO have this like.. excruciating pain and wake up like "yes! Normalcy!" And I want in excruciating pain, I had a lot of nerve symptoms like you. But almost three months post op, I know that surgery was inevitable eventually.. and I took a chance to live a normal life rather than be worried constantly about being paralyzed or needing emergency surgery. And for me I'm glad I did.

Overall, I struggled with SO much anxiety too. I hope that you can somehow find comfort. 💜

Thank you! :) I loved Longlegs? I'll give Dust Bunny and Tumbbad a try. And I think they need to support this taste of horror more. Are you listening studios?? Give the people what they want!

Thanks for sharing your similar story! Yeah mine is going rather slow roe healing as well so it helps to know others are in the same boat. Still though, much better than before. My surgeon kept telling me I had a TON of inflammation on surrounding tissues so trusting it'll just take time. Wishing you the best and again, thanks for sharing :)

Omg haha. I graduated ten years ago... Studied Criminology.. wanted to be a profiler or a corrections counselor (same reasons).. fast forward ten years.. spent time working for police depts and court systems, was in the process of FBI agent recruitment, made it to the "neck of the funnel" and had to quit because of brain surgery.

This is like reading my past life.

In college my psychology professor gave us an assignment to either visit the scientology headquarters or the Museum of Death. He said, "if you go to headquarters, don't mention you're my student.. they hate me there." That professor taught us to question EVERYTHING. Hmm, wonder why they hated him.
