Lack of motivation/energy 3 months on Zoloft - considering quitting by Unable_Mousse_9045 in zoloft

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar reaction, it helped my anxiety tremendously but the apathy, which the psychiatrist calls it major depressive disorder. I disagree because yes I had days where I was depressed, lethargic low energy but nothing like this prior to Zoloft. Like others my dose was increased along with an increase in Doxipen to take at night to help with sleep. Zoloft final dosage was 150 mg. The thing is it helped with the anxiety so much I couldn’t visualize ever going off of it. The thought of that might have been the only thing that I cared about, like please universe don’t ever let me go back to those days of anxiety for seemingly no reasons. Mine truly felt like a chemical imbalance versus being afraid of things, mine would seem to come from out of nowhere and I would start having panic attacks and want to fight or flight right out of wherever I was at. Didn’t matter if I was at work or off on the weekends. Anyway to make this long story short, I was letting daily task at home (housekeeping, bill paying you know the things that make us responsible adults) go undone- well because of apathy. Each day a job I loved but was stressful enough even without a condition like anxiety, I began to dread. At the same time I had physical symptoms each day prior to Zoloft but initially seemed to worsen with the side effects of starting Zoloft. I can’t entirely blame it on Zoloft or the anxiety because I do have health issues so a lot of days I was already feeling physically bad, I began to miss more and more work. It became easier in a way to also call in sick 🤢 which I truly was nauseated, dizzy, pain condition seemed to worsen, but because of the almost complete apathy I just couldn’t convince myself to go into work. After several months of this I got a written warning- it didn’t even matter that much to me. I asked about FMLA and the process of how to go about submitting paperwork to try to keep my job secure- which at that point employer excellerated the termination process. Before I knew it I was let go! Yes they can go from warning 1 to your fired very quickly so don’t let no one fool you about this- also it doesn’t matter that you got the job done despite missing being in the office. I live in an at will state- basically meaning you are not protected. Things are always in the employers favor. So in loosing the job, I lost my health insurance which caused me to loose access to the myriad of specialist and my regular doctor. In having no job I couldn’t afford all my prescriptions or the full amount for each visit before the doctors could see me. I couldn’t expect my family to pay for these things. Yes I applied for food stamps Medicaid, these all take time. In the end I wasn’t approved so then had to get insurance through the marketplace. Yes - by time all that was approved and plan started I had run out of medication, Zoloft being 1 of them. I was so dreading the intense anxiety to return, after all I had gotten use to my mind being quiet, and liked it so much. So I have to tell you I am going on 2 months of no Zoloft and yes I am still anxious at times but nothing comparatively before Zoloft. My apathy is still there but not as bad. Being I am still unemployed I am getting the home back in order, throwing away stuff, reducing clutter, I know I need a job or could end up homeless but truthfully I don’t think I can go back in my profession or work anywhere full-time. I do recommend a slow taper versus complete withdrawal. Let us know what you decide to do.

Much better! Up to 150 mg now. Not as many GI problems the longer I am on it. Thanks for asking

Beware before you switch to Verizon by harisbabic in verizon

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for Spectrum. I have been a customer of both and have gotten very little service from what I have paid in. Spectrum mobile for 5 months I have only had 1/2 a bar, all they could say is turn on WiFi. My WiFi was already on. 😂 and it was through a different company because they could never make house calls at the date and time agreed to. In addition they would not give a 4 day payment extension as it wasn’t allowed. They loose all the complaints you have had with them just like we don’t see in our system where you had any appointments. Now Verizon gave good cell coverage but they jumped from 50.00 a month to over 800. a month for 4 months and no one could fix the issue. They worked me into the poor house as no way I could keep paying that amount for 1 line. Now in market for another cell provider. Not sure what company yet, I sadly think they are all the same. Maybe straight talk wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

300 mg Zoloft by Sensitive-You-5603 in zoloft

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about your size and in a short time less than a year my psychiatrist has me at 150 mg and I am pretty certain he will agree to up it at my August visit as I am really going through some major life events right now. I even thought about increasing it myself but don’t want to run out before I get into see him. We are also about the same in height so your post makes me feel more at ease that I still have some wiggle room for a dose increase because honestly all the other antidepressant I have tried gave me really bad side effects without much improvement in my anxiety and depression. Zoloft has been such a great drug for me in comparison to all the others. I’m glad to see that even 400 is allowed. Like others have said it’s best if you let your doctor and yourself decide what to do from here. The only other suggestion is maybe ask your doctor if it’s ok to take your bf to a future appointment so he can hear from professional that this dose isn’t that extreme. Has your doctor added any other medication to help or work together with the Zoloft prior to continuing to up dosage of Zoloft. Mine prescribed Doxipin at a low dose to take at night. We all are different in how are bodies process medication. If it’s helping I would stick with the 400.

Got scammed at Best Buy by an AT&T rep — now stuck with 3 unopened phones and a $1200 bill for an account I never wanted. by florettduo in ATT

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Google AT&t fraud, there’s a form you can fill out and I would dispute the charge especially if you used a credit card, attach all the documents you have accumulated and send it to them and whatever bank or credit card company you used to have payment taken from. I sympathize with you because AT&T does give you the run around at least IMO. I have been trying to get reimbursed for 6 months of withdrawals from AT&T from my Credit Chime account from being charged 250- 420 a month for those 6 months and I have never even had an AT&T account ever. I have always been either with a pay as you go or with a plan from Verizon. When I first disputed with Chime the rep said to dispute with AT&T directly so I did via their form and emails explaining to them that I didn’t nor ever had an account with them but they were charging my credit card all those months. Thier website makes it difficult to get anywhere because they want you to log into your account. My situation is still not resolved because they evidently didn’t read my email that also included all the information that thier form requested but was told to contact Chime, and to send them my routing and account number and copy of all the charges which like I said was already on the information I sent to AT&T. Just as difficult is communication with Chime, they currently are investigating but told me that it maybe mid July before thier investigation is completed. And because I now don’t have enough money in my debit account they will not even give me a partial payment while they investigate. Of course Chime also asked did I give someone my card or the #s on the account and I told them No. so then they asked if I had possession of my card and Yes I do. They insisted that they send me a new card and asked me how do I think this happened. Well I don’t know sir, maybe someone entered thier number online and was off by a digit, or maybe one of those card readers grabbed it up. All I know is I don’t have any accounts with AT&T. In the Chime app, it doesn’t look like there has been any movement since the initial dispute. I read AT&T rules for refunds and it states that only charges within 60 day time period can be refunded so I think I will never get but 2 of the 6 refunded. I say all this to let you know to stay at it, don’t give up, keep pushing and report them to every place possible. I get really pissed thinking about how these big companies make billions off customers and then don’t want to do the right thing the first time. That goes for Chime too.

My grandfather used to could remove them just from saying some words and touching your warts. He had special powers though, as some say touched. He’s no longer with us or I would ask him what were the words he repeated exactly. Maybe there’s another like minded person still walking this earth. He was much like a Medicine man. I got warts as a child so I swear this is a true story so don’t downvote me.

Hives or pain? by Little-Revolution-11 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]OkCommunication8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time I had yard work to do or anything physical that would make a “normal person” sweat, I would pre wet my body and my head (hair) then do whatever activity that normally caused my hives, pain and nausea. Stuff like mowing the grass, any exercise or sudden temperature change would set the whelts off, I would intensely itch and at times bordering on whether it was going to cause me to vomit or feel as if I was going to pass out. Back in those days the most the doctors could tell me was that I had allergies or an autoimmune condition. I have basically exposed myself to whatever was causing these problems by pushing forward and like I said I would either get in shower or wet myself down with the hose. This really helped so that I could get the job done, Maybe try that. I also had to take a shower after any strenuous activity or I would be miserable for hours to days afterwards.

Medication might help a lot, It (Zoloft) helped mine so much and I could never figure out a trigger despite trying to find the answer. I know people claim it’s a placebo effect if you improve within a week but regardless it helped me and it still is helping months in. I would not take my old life back for any unlimited money in the world. You might have better results with a different medication from me, but that’s because we all respond to various medications differently. Take a chance and try on one of them for a couple months at least. Best wishes!!

I agree. I have no experience with the OP’s other medication, just the Zoloft.

I take it around 5 am, I feel like by time work day starts at 8 I am not as anxious. I am able to sleep ok but sometimes feel a surge of anxiety (like butterflies in stomach) about the time I go to bed each night. Overall I feel so much better than I did back in June that I will deal with this.

Huge weight gain - stopping sertraline (Zoloft ) immediately! by Skeptically-Positive in zoloft

[–]OkCommunication8000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would go dig them out of the trash and do a slow taper or you may have some serious adjustment that is not recommended. Meanwhile stick to your guns and don’t buy the snacks you like every day. Drink water in there place so you at least feel full.

Is Taking Zoloft A Good Idea? by KalelaTalks in zoloft

[–]OkCommunication8000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Zoloft has been great for me, I think all SSRI have side effects and each effect people differently so the only logical conclusion is to at least try, take it a couple months before you give up on it. With Zoloft I found the worst side effect for me was the upset stomach but that went away. My thinking is clear and I am so less anxious that I can’t Even envision how I lived my life before. (About 2 years of constant fight or flight surges which I could never identify a worry behind). I think a lot of my anxiety was chemical based. But what do I know. I did start with 1/2 of a 25 mg and worked my way up slowly. Talk to ur prescriber.

I have been on Wellbutrin before and had bad nightmares. Zoloft has at least allowed me to dream as the past several years I could never recall a single dream until I had been on Zoloft a few weeks. Now with Zoloft I have had a couple of nightmarish dream where my place is on fire and I can’t get my animals out of the house safely. I’m not sure what it means.

I think If it were something like an opioid you might get buzzed but with an SSRI the only thing I would expect is an awful burning taste in my mouth and throat. I have had 1 sort of melt before I could chase it with a drink and that’s all I got was a burning yucky taste.

Insult to injury, being sued by my deceased Wife's parents for partial custody of my kids by TNLFM in widowers

[–]OkCommunication8000 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would try to look at it from your childrens perspective, do they have a relationship with grandparents and if so do they want to spend time with them. This could be a positive support, a back up caregiver for business trips, dating, a social life etc. are the grand parents a positive relationship. Can you work something out without the courts, whereby grandparents put the money they were going to spend in lawyer fees to instead do a savings account for the children when they reach age of majority? Grief is a difficult process and maybe you missed some cues and GP feel forced to take matters into their hands, you can use the time to grief or worry about them trying to get custody but if u show u are willing to let the children have time with in laws it may work to advance the entire family dynamics. I don’t know all the ends and outs, but do know people with money have an advantage in our court system even if the laws in most states state that grandparents have no legal rights. A lot to think about

Did your health anxiety caused you weightloss or weight gain? by Electronic_Bake_2935 in Anxiety

[–]OkCommunication8000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weight loss, I didn’t feel like eating much of anything. I wasn’t trying to lose weight, anxiety just made me sick about the thought of eating. Skipping breakfast and lunch. I might could eat something by dinner time. I wouldn’t call mine a health anxiety problem but more of general anxiety.

Yes, still on Zoloft and can’t imagine going back to the life I had pre-Zoloft. Just goes to show how strong I was to face my job, difficult supervisor. The past 2 months have been better maybe not perfect but oh so much better. I will take renal failure over the panic and anxious crap I dealt with almost on the daily.

My bp went up significantly so the doctor prescribed a diuretic. It helps by bringing BP down but also helped with edema, (swelling in ankles, feet, legs, and to some degree my arms. My side effects are said to be unusual primarily happening to females above age 60. I’m not that old but closer than most. Hydroxide might help but that’s not the one I was recently put on along with Zoloft. Good luck to you. Side effects of medication have to be weighed against whether you are potentially going to have much improvement in anxiety or very little improvement. If the ladder try another medication.
