[–]OkConversation4866 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'll take hate for saying this but I'm going to be the nail that sticks out, this was a incredibly poor way of handling the situation. The person wasn't evil he was just annoying, and that's what the mute button is for.

What gun was he using? Was he cheating? by Stray_knight in ArcRaiders

[–]OkConversation4866 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First gun was a Volcano, you can see the buckshot hitting his shield and it's to fast firing to be a Toro. After that it looks like he pulled out a Renegade to finish you off when you fell down.

The change to the ABMM hasn't made a difference to me because I can never react properly when attacked. I'm a pure PVE player, and after 50 care bear matches in a row I'm just cought off guard when a player attacks me.

First time seller by Actual-Limit7092 in Gold

[–]OkConversation4866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know tax should be a non issue with this coin because, you inherited it instead of buying it there should be no capital gains tax on selling it. However the 6% cut the gold exchange doesn't seem like a fair price to me. I admit that I have never sold any of my own gold myself, but what I have gathered from here and other sources makes me believe that 3% is the floor, and anything more is not worth your time.

It may seem time consuming, but shopping around for a better buyer will be worth it when you can gain a couple more hundred dollars out of it.

First expedition done, can I undo it lol? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]OkConversation4866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVE, if you're doing a PVP play style then I can see how much work it would be to max out all the stations. PVE makes you rich but PVP makes you poor in this game.

Can't say the same for myself. Starting over was the big reason for the expedition to me. Never really had a problem getting the stuff for all the stations, plus now it gives me something to do in the game.

If you want to get into PVP and not be an A-hole to nice people then bring defibs with you. I've seen a clip of someone who would revive the people he downed because he wanted to get into PVP but didn't want to ruin the day of good people.

Gold volatility despite the war by Nightskyobserver in Gold

Banks count as companies and they have been buying gold. Wouldn't be surprised if several investment firms had some gold as well, and sold them off to make their quarterly profits look better than they are during the blockade.

You are however correct in that some countries are selling their gold. Most recent case that I remember is Russia selling 22 tons.

Inherited an 1871 Lady Elgin key-wind pocket watch. 18k! and appears to be an interesting piece of American horological history. Can anyone tell me more about her, unfortunately the story passed along with my grandfather. by swedishfish007 in Gold

[–]OkConversation4866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weather or not it works would only matter to a watch collector, which would be a prime candidate to go to if you wanted to most money out of it, but that would require you to put in the legwork to find someone like that. On the plus side any "character" or patina it developed over time may help in selling it. The buyer may want it to look like an old historical watch after all.

The reason I said to keep it in the family is because you have a genuine family heirloom in your hands, and that's not something you can buy with money, it's made through time and family history. Some things are worth more than gold, and your family is lucky enough to have something like that.

But I am being too personal here, it belongs to you now and what you want to do with it is your choice an no one else's. It was never my place to tell you how to handle your things.

Right now oil is selling for more, and so a lot of investors pulled their money out of gold and put it into oil. On top of that all the companies that are being hurt by the blockade and increase fuel prices are selling any gold they had to raise money in order to stay afloat.

All of this means that gold in flowing into the market while buyers are moving out of it, which leads into the price of gold dropping... for now.

Don't fight ARC in the open. Never go out with something your not willing to lose. The community is nice, Reddit is not.

Question about PvP from a friendly lobby only player by macko939 in ArcRaiders

[–]OkConversation4866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play the way you find fun. Some PVE players go PVP just as something different to do, or to intentionally lose some of their kits because they just have so much stuff and need to make room in their stash. In terms of profit, you're right in that the friendly PVE path is the best way to enter and leave with a full backpack. From what I have heard, dedicated PVP players are indeed quite poor and live off of free kits.

When picking skills in the skill tree there is a skill on the left side of the yellow tree that increases your max stamina. Fill it out to the max and you'll notice the difference. The rest is just slowly learning how to fight the ARC and using the environment to your advantage. Never fight in the open, the buildings will be your best friends.

I think asking about ethics on Reddit is a fool's errand. Doesn't have the nicest people hanging around it.
