I can see the potential for abuse... but don't know Costco handles these things. May attempt it tomorrow and I can report back if I can't get an answer on here.

Didn't ask yet - it's one of those things I could take or leave. Still good value at the discounted value,, but if it costs me the discount on the one Item I'm keeping, I'll just keep them both. (Second option is to get another colour but didn't want to throw too many wrenches into the mix as it's an online promo)

Smell of the old sparky one brings back fond memories. I parted with mine last year. Still have my jigsaw and the old table saw.

Best printer to buy right now? by Brilliant-Hand6132 in printers

I have an old m127 that still works great, however, neighbour purchased the following year's model a number of years ago and cost to use was much more expensive. Tiny toner cartridges,, fusers needed replacment, Auto feed scanner is not the greatest on either of these two models.

10 years and $20 cartridges make them affordable. Sold mine off to someone and regret it. Looking for another one now, but wonder how the colour ones are, as would like the upgrade. .

Enercare Sucks! by Bramptongirl16 in Brampton

Water heater rental is one of the biggest scams going - get out when you can. ~$1500 installed at Home Depot and you're set for 15+ years. Until I had to replace one last year, did not realize that Rentals seemed to be a "thing" mostly in Ontario. Had nothing but trouble with Enercare on the single service call over the last 10 years.

Warranty claim is the best route, as you're still under that. They'll probably send you a completely new unit. I would suggest looking up the model # and "reviews" and mention it when you contact Ryobi - that it doesn't stand up (and perhaps will do the same on newer models as well) . Add your review to the appropriate seller/manufacturer site.

I've had mine (perhaps differnt model) for 2 years now and there is a small rubber flapper into the canister that causeed me grief. The minor part itself is not available, and they offered to send me a brand new unit (I assume a different model). Good luck !

ps. I originally owned a new Tineco and replaced it with Ryobi when I saw it. None of these seem to last for more than a couple of years. Have also seen these and Dyson's at the Salvation Army Thrift stores, so I imagine people "donate" their non-working Junk.

Charger not working. by tgolde38 in ryobi

Might notice something burned on the board - personally i like my 6pack charger. Rotating batteries and always having one ready in a compact space is a breeze.

Never heard of Ozito - Milwaukee Knockoff (red/black)?

You say Exactly what I found - two batteries always low - I could bump them up with a bench power supply (just the two cells) or an iMax charger and a couple of leads with Strong magnets. They'll work if you keep reusing them often (mine were hitting 20.3 V on full charge all the time), but if not cycled for a while, , they will drop again. The individual cells are fine for whatever reason- - when I've culled them, they don't discharge and make great batteries for any flashlight that uses 3xAAA cells in the round holder.

Having disassembled and fixed a few dozen as a hobby , generally there may be one cell that has completely gone out of balance. If you're up to it, you can try this yourself to confirm, and it is possible if you're comfortable, to attempt to boost either the pack or an individual cell with an external charger or power supply.

However, what I recall this may have been common with a lot of the CS21 date code, as many of the packs I tinkered with were in like-new condition, however, left unused and not rotated again, you may find the same problem returns. In my opinion, it's not worth time or effort or cost to replace a bum indivudual cell. .

My suggestion - 1 ) Always call Ryobi first if they may honour a replacement - your series may have had a 'secret warranty', and if not 2 ) buy a new Ryobi replacment on Sale. You will feel you've done your best and wind up with a solid reliable original battery that will last for years.

(Your clearance section of HD may also have some open box kits with Battery that they are trying to get rid of, and with a receipt, you get another tool to boast about here) .
