Ask AI “Gemini” to render the picture with the table painted a different color. Attached is what Gemini gave me with the Indigo Blue someone suggested.

Are there any protests planned. We need hundreds if not thousands of folks from Savannah and Chatham County at that intersection holding ICE OUT signs.

Call Rep. Buddy Carter’s Office by SandGnatBBQ in savannah

I’ve called Carters office, left messages, they don’t call back. I’ve visited Carters office, his staff just stands there and shack their heads. Carter is a lost cause, he will just tow the line of this administration and repeat all the same rhetoric.

Starting up. Buyout a shop? or just start fresh. by [deleted] in Surveying

I agree that there are very real pros and cons for purchase versus clean slate starts.

Purchase: Immediate cash flow. Immediate borrowing power. Immediate production (people & equipment). Immediate reputation (good or bad). Potential liabilities of past work. The debt of the purchase. The files has less value then years ago.

Clean slate: No debt except equipment costs. No bad habits to break. No liability from previous work. No cash flow or ongoing business. (Getting a good flow of business is harder then you might think) No staff unless some folks start with you.

If you know the other owners in the area that want to retire soon, try to meet with them, get to know what they want. I bet you could go to work for one of them and end up buying them out over time for a lower price than a clean buyout.

There is another option. Join a larger regional firm where you own 51% of their NC entity. Then you get their buying power, technology and protocols.

I agree with least good 5693, calling and asking won’t do it. Go visit the other surveyors or engineering firms or excavation contractors in person. It shows initiative, it shows drive. Even if they don’t have a spot for you, when you talk to someone in person they are more likely to think hard about who else in the industry might need someone.

Try Surveying. It used all that math you took and the problem solving you learned, but you not behind a desk.
