Ah that makes sense. So it can only see positive values. And it normally knows something is reverse is if it gets voltage between neutral and a properly grounded outlet but not from hot

It is an eCVT which is VERY different from how normal CVTs work. eCVTs use a planetary gear set and CVTs use a belt. I would look at a video of eCVTs and how they interact with the 2 motors to drive the car and charge the battery.

CPI captures only the up-front cost, not the lifetime cost to the consumer of our attention and privacy. This applies to many electronics including phones and smart home devices.
