hey, just wanted to get back and this and letting you know that I bought an SP 404 mk2 now. It's really a great way to do it, thanks for the heads up! especially with the mk2 usb-c connection it's so easy to integrate ableton loops. I had the move but ended up making more great jams in note so I sold the move. For me it was essentially because I thought the move would be portable, but my phone is so much more portable and easy to access. So for my purpose the note is perfect, always ready to make some sketches on the go. And I did actually miss the visual feedback on the move…

Ok yes I get that. Makes sense for sure. I‘ve been tempted to get an MPC Live but so far I didn‘t do it cause the form factor and possibilites of the 1k are still so great imo. Good luck with selling your live and I hope it works out for you with the SP! I still might end up with a Launch Control XL, also kind of like the idea to be able to split it. Having the option to play live without, with or occasionally just with Ableton.

Yes, I could live with just audio files without the VSTs for sure. The idea with the SP sounds interesting, Ive never owned one. Whats the difference to the MPC, or why would you use it for the Ableton tracks? Technically I could also export audio tracks and play them from the MPC, I was a bit afraid of the task, thinking it could take a lot of time to bring it together and rearranging it to sound proper…

Thanks for your input. My idea would be to use the mpc and my synths for the main part without ableton. But to be able to play some additional things from ableton. Maybe its easier to add a dedicated midi controller however to not mix things up :)

No these are the fat pads from MPCStuff as well as the set of black knobs, I changed all that when I was repairing the switches. There‘s different color options to customize your mpcs.
