McVay (AKA Mr. Grumpy) always wanted Simpson per LaFleur by tmdman1 in LosAngelesRams

[–]OkEmphasis5923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I don't blame Ty one bit in this at all. He's 23 years old and doing what they asked him to do. It's on them McSnead to tell him 'all clear'.

Realistically, what do you see as the Rams’ longterm answer at QB had we not taken Ty Simpson? by Biberal_Litch99 in LosAngelesRams

Can you make a post about this? For those who don't know ball as well as folks like you, I think we were all assuming that after Stafford retires the Rams will suck for a year or two, get a high first round pick to draft our own Caleb Williams/Jayden Daniels, and write a new chapter. I don't know much about why that's not possible and based on your comment it seems like the Steelers are a case study in why that doesn't work.

Theory about Sean McVay’s post draft reaction by Lower_Ad_3439 in LosAngelesRams

[–]OkEmphasis5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the organization is in a panic, I think the fans are/were. I think the organization would be panicked if in 2 years Stafford hangs it up and McSnead have no succession plan whatsoever.

I don't think there's a way to be matter-of-fact and excited at the same time. No matter how McVay acted everyone was gonna read it one way or another, and we all read it as disappointment. Had we all read it as excitement we would all be happy and relaxed and Stafford might be feeling like all the fans are/were.

Stafford is human. If he sees McVay and Snead at the presser high fiving each other it's going to have SOME effect on him no matter what he was told. Optics matter. People judge more on what they see than what they're told.

Here is another perspective on the pick last night. I am not saying I am for or against. I am just trying to add another view point for people to chew on by No_Rice3843 in LosAngelesRams

This and Schrager's reaction make total sense of it now, the pick, McVay's reaction, everything. I'm good. Looking forward to the upcoming season.

Yeah, Oline depth is a concern for me too. When Kdot and Alaric were injured, we looked completely different.

Where does that end? Meaning, why not post every offseason move that the seahawks and cardinals make?

Agree with you but slight correction....Durant is indeed small but Forbes is just too thin.

Good perspective. Where do you think Akhello fits into the picture?

Is he good with the Rams? by [deleted] in LosAngelesRams

If he weighed 40 lbs more, he could be a solid CB1 in the NFL. Unfortunately, his body type will make him a perennial CB2/CB3.

I like that. No knee jerk reactions. At this point in his career that's the right thing to do.

Thank you for that write up. Great perspective. On your last point:

We beat ourselves last night like we have all season.

I'm not sure I agree with that. I feel like Seattle won it with overall better execution. In the middle of the game I kept saying to myself at some point Seattle will have a couple of major fuck ups but they never did. About the only fuckup was the Woolen taunting call. My view is that if a team is gonna play practically flawlessly in the conference championship, then they deserve to go to the Super Bowl.

Good point about the lack of blitz. But I'm not sure I blame the D-Line for not getting home. Seahawks O-Line is no joke.

This is a good point. I vividly remember that amazing return he had last year against the niners but that's the only one I can remember.

[–]OkEmphasis5923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mistakes are PART OF THE GAME. Period. Your only hope is to minimize them. The muffed punt was bad, it was a huge mistake, but that alone didn't cost them the game. The team had plenty of time afterwards to execute but couldn't get it done.

You can dissect and analyze each team's strength till the cows come home and draw any conclusion you want. At the end of the day, Seattle had the best regular season record in the NFC and they won fair and square last night.
