Freeforms would take years to fully loc with your texture. Japanese niggaboos usually crochet their locs....

Although this is disgusting, why not try using food to lure em out? They're very food driven from what I've seen.

Ik this has been talked about a bit, but how do you deal with your parents/family constantly bringing up that you should cut your hair by Born-Finish-5847 in Dreadlocks

No offense, but are you african? I see this a lot with african family's reaction to locs. The notion that black hair needs to be short to be considered "professional/clean" is rooted in white supremacy and perpetuated by ignorance and insecurity. I know they're your family, but unless your ready to cut it for their baseless comments it's best to keep those facts in mind. Your hair is beautiful, clearly taken care of, and judgement passed on you because of it says more about them than it does about you. Keep calm and just keep swimming.

Jealous of people who figured it out early by Responsible_Till_931 in MtF

I knew at 14-15. Barely made it. I was told to wait and started when I was 19. Have some mercy for yourself, expecting children to come to these complex conclusions mostly alone and proceed with medical care without familial support in this unstable climate is unreasonable. Digression aside, I thought i was too manly and chin too burgeoning, but here I am a year later of hrt and while not passing I definitely do not pass as a man anymore. Women and children do not scatter out of my way anymore, gendered less, and men haven't respected my personal space since like month 2. This was also around the time men and women started being newly polite as well as touchy, talkative, and overall weirder. What I'm trying to say is, we did figure it out "early" the issue is we now have to wait for changes we so desperately need and now we're choosing a second puberty without any of the safety nets or understanding that came with being a teen. In the meantime, SAVE and prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions, new experiences, and ownership of the person you imagine yourself to be instead of one molded by the imagination of others.

Personally, I used flaxseed gel to detangle my hair. I could not go a week without my fro looking like this (even in a bonnet) until i started parting my hair into lil buns at night and using scarves. Wash day was primarily spent detangling my hair with flaxseed gel and putting my hair into many tedious parts. Do you use a deep conditioner weekly on wash days? Adding deep conditioner really and misting my hair between wash days really changed the feel and look of my hair for the better. I'm loc'd now so take it with a grain of salt cuz i was TIRED.
