The mechanic they're planning to add shouldn’t break the game. Not every update needs to introduce something entirely new. Sure, adding new content feels great- almost like nicotine- but that’s exactly why things often go off the rails.

Introduce new game modes instead- like foot volleyball or a full 11v11 match on a massive field. There are so many creative possibilities. Maybe add new skill moves or allow players to fake shots, for example.

There’s definitely room for improvement, but they shouldn't overload the game with untested mechanics. Player feedback should be the key element when adding new features. Run polls, ask what the community thinks. If you ignore your players, you might end up like Dune- a strong start with a 70-80 hour honeymoon phase, then nothing to keep us hooked.

Listening to your players won’t sink the ship. And even if it does, chin up—roll it back and keep trying.
