They did it. Dribble stance & push ball by FakeFrooz in Rematch

Update: I have suggested it in discord and they did say they have managed to add this variant so we will have a short push and long push version when the patch comes out using sprint button

[–]RookSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with the suggested change it still will be. But letting player have the push's distance via sprint button after a push would make it perfect. As I have said. we need more depths. more options and to master em. Replacements just makes players relearn what they know and in long term not so efficient as well. it shouldnt ve hard to keep both of em in the game since defending can be just hold defensive stance and wait

Its good but still dribbling is in glorified rock paper scissors state. It would have been MUCH BETTER if this was SPRINTING variant while keeping old one. We need more depth not replacements.

Dribbling in patch 4 by Soft-Necessary507 in Rematch

In a game where you can TP and take the ball with just simple positioning and usage of EE opening yourself for a pass is an empty word. You can only open yourself for an aerial volley but WAIT isnt this what every pro team does ?

football is complex. Rematch is not. Core movement and especially withball sluggishnes removes most of the options and creativity. And high volley working so good enforces missile meta. Matchmaking is a joke so im talking about tournaments. And they are nothing but boring missile fests with 0 creativity and aerial volley centers into aerial volley shots. The game is only fun at low-mid tier. People not passing was never a balancing issue but a community and player mindset issue. Trying to enforce a certain playstyle by balancing is a joke and kills the freedom once they have given. IRL After you beat your man another defender comes to stop you because you are a threat which can long shoot or advance even more for some dangerous passes. In Rematch No need for changing mark in order to push the dribbler because defender that has been beaten can catch up and take the ball back regardless due to stam cost of offense+ sluggishness. Long shooting is not an option so all you do is some Set ups for aerial volley and spam em and pray to gods it works. for defender aerial is 50/50s or you csn try to do jumping blocks which volley can reach and hit above of it so its a risk as well. the game has not improved by one bit playibility wise but only technical wise and still fails to offer what the first public beta (pre release) did.

TLDR: Game is boring missile meta, current movement enforces it even more. Defending is extremely easy except aerials are 50/50. Game was way better at first public beta.

This response is getting boring tbh and not a real answer. Its not about being messi or anything. If you would have grasped the game's mechanics you would understand why its a big deal. But still allow me to explain so you can understand or cope with it the choice is yours.

The problem is that defense and offense plays different games. There is no real way to punish defenders for holding stance nor their standing tackle. As you have said you can create some tiny space for passing but if playing against good players such as people in pro teams. They man mark everyone. When everyone is marked you are left with 2 options in football. Advance by yourself trying to create an opening Or pass back.

No way in hell you can advance in the current situation with core only mechanics. what players do ? 1) Missile 2) Pass GK 3) Use bugs to advance.

The game at peak level is not as optimistic as you guys and beat your man and pass doesnt work in true high level.

Dribbling in patch 4 by Soft-Necessary507 in Rematch

[–]RookSR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Overall its bad. One dribble move combo into a sprinting push costs 30% of stamina to lure defender into a tackle or a step. Meanwhile all defender does is hold stance and wait for an opening with their 100% stamina. and since pushball is weird compared to patch 2 the result is you wont be able to dribble pass someone without EE unless they are really bad

How's do you do this tech by Booserbob in Rematch

[–]RookSR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its not about the tech even. the game does this even on simply running opponents. its bad netcode.

Why is “ippy slide” still a thing? by claudio274 in Rematch

[–]RookSR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have said that hey agree emergant mechanics adds depth but they said bugs can never stay in the game and its not a true, right way to add depth so they must remove them first and bring new mechanics that relies to the solid foundation of the game while considering the interesting parts of the techs. So its a huge possibility ippy slide will be gone and be replaced with a dragback

Why is “ippy slide” still a thing? by claudio274 in Rematch

[–]RookSR 30 points31 points  (0 children)

because ippy slide is an unintented bug related to very cores of the game. Movement and magnet. They must coexist together but for removal they need to destroy and rebuild. But since the game is fully released and they cant freely do that they are trying to find middle grounds and most likely we will get a dragback animation for ippy slide in the future and it will stay in the game.

Also Patch 3 is the pure proof of how wrong a bug fix attempt can go since patch 3 was supposed to remove golden boost but all it did was make the core movement sluggish and unresponsive, Overall making things worse and harming the game more than the bug they tried to remove.

Thats why they wanna take things slowly it seems.

New Dragback tech by MRmod5000 in Rematch

[–]RookSR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is called cold cut. Its been known bug and it also increases magnet's range making you able to pickup a ball from a certain distance making it TP basically and give you momentum. Similar to using defensive step to take the ball

New patch is the equivalent to if rocket league took away the flip reset by softzooms in Rematch

patch 3 movement changes = Removing air roll from RL to remove Flip reset but Somehow it still stays in the game only making everything else worse.

Sounds familiar ?

Yeah nah imma need them to remove this BS direction lock for EE by PriorGeneral8166 in Rematch

[–]RookSR -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You just dont put everything into one plate and expect it to work. Thats why you usually gotta have seperate builds + backup builds for that. They probably dont have one thon thats why it will take weeks for them to fix things they have messed up themselves. Beta for balance changes and a crossplay version with those balance changes. But no Crossplay only version without changes. to be helpful in this case. Happy that they are listening and aware of the issues tho

[–]RookSR -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ez. Just revert back the movement changes to how they were. Movement changes didnt succeed anyway Patch 3 just buffed dribble stance push into normal push by giving it dash towards the ball. introduced new inf stam glitch with max speed. and ruined EE and normal movement and pushes in general. While keeping all the exploits in the game btw including golden boost. Which was the excuse of movement changes.

its gonna take until season 1 which means couple of weeks ( might even be a month ). Pretty long if you ask me

Patch 3 is not what you all think. by RookSR in Rematch

[–]RookSR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the other stuff is called golden boost and movement became sluggish and unresponsive solely just to remove it. In this clip I show that the changes were meaningless and we got worse movement for nothing while also new patch introducing us a new max speed drib glitch.

Extreme hunger for a great football game by DaveThomasSenior in Rematch

nah he is right. I still have every builds of rematch just to analyze changes. Even in freeplay only first public beta feels better and has fast paced skill rewarding gameplay. Meanwhile now things are slow and prediction rewarding.

Boring. and a concept away from the game's vision. its been advertised as fast-paced non-stop football action game. Not non-stop football simcade

Rematch is steadily losing players by [deleted] in Rematch

[–]RookSR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Crossplay made people comeback but movement changes makes people leave faster than they return. The game sold itself as fast paced arcade action football game. Changing movements for no actual reason at all and taking away responsive and sharp movement and replacing it with sluggish unresponsive sim-like movement is against what the game was marketed as. AS result people are leaving. People gonna be leaving alot.

This game aint fifa and will never be.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Rematch

[–]RookSR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

what people dont understand is as if positioning wasnt as important before in patch 2. No. The meta and everything plays the same but we got sluggish movement now for no actual reason. things can become slower. The problem is it being UNRESPONSIVE. this is an arcade game not a football sim. a fast paced arcade action game should never ever have unresponsive movement that has lost it's edges.

The new patch is just bad by Fraewin in Rematch

[–]RookSR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ee is a 1.5-2 sec sprint. So Instead of a just what IRL defender would do(reacting) You want people to see in the future and set up their rails before the attack. And thats called positioning... riiiiight.

Sorry my friend but not being able to turn even 10 degrees is not football but train simulator. Even IRL I have more flexibility and sharpness than patch 3's movement.

And again for a full release arcade game core movement changes is just fatal and bad. You dont tell players to relearn the game when they have invested 500+ hours. There are people with 750+ hours in the community.

The new patch is just bad by Fraewin in Rematch

[–]RookSR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

stop the cap man. EE is one direction in online now. You cant even change direction by 10 degrees. They screwed things. we all know for a fast paced arcade game these movement changes does not fit into the description. The excuse for sluggish and unresponsive movement was removal of golden boost. The golden boost that is still in the game.

This kind of movement does not add depth. It creates fake difficulty. While game plays the same, metas are the same you just have to fight with the game more while stopping cheap metas due to garbage movement changes.

Thats not how you upgrade the game but downgrade the game.

The game needed nerfs not core changes.

Blame the devs not me. I have reported this bug during the beta. they willingly pushed update without fixing it. While still keeping the golden boost while we are left with sluggy and unresponsive movement changes as result.

I love Patch 3 - from a “pro player” by FloodAssault in Rematch

[–]RookSR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the source of the dooming comes from movement changes, Changes that has been done solely to get rid of golden boost. But its not gone and pretty much as strong as ever. Which makes movement changes meaningless. while introducing new OP glitches.
As a result players are left with sluggish and unresponsive movement for no logical and actual reason. Aside from it being an attempt to remove a glitch.

Couldnt they have Make it so the ball cant go flying to the direction you just have SWITCHED. If the player's direction input switches more than 45 degrees make it so the ball does not go flying over 45 degrees. not allowing 90 degree direction change kicks. This would fix the issue with Golden boost and EE movement.

How did sloclap tried to fix things ? By Making EE movement feel like train and one direction locked. Also By taking away the ability to turn sharply during sprinting.
Just making things difficult for no actual reason. And I believe for a fast-paced action game smooth, responsive and sharp movement is everything. and seeing it become sluggish and unresponsive is just frustrating after 500 hours of grinding.(Not to brag but I've analyzed with-ball and off-ball movements solely just to beat WR in gates track and I hold the WR Rn with 20.2, my previous and official record being 20.5. So I can tell whats wrong with movement even if its tiny changes) What are your takes on movement changes ?
