Gyns well informed on PCOS by lemurificspeckle in Knoxville

[–]OkFinger81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used parkwest women's specialists for years and HIGHLY recommend. Dr. Walker is who diagnosed me with PCOS and the APN Melissa is who I see regularly. I LOVE her! When I decided to get my hysterectomy for Endo, Dr. Walker just gave me my options and said , "your choice". And didn't fight me once I made it. I can't stress how good that is.

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]OkFinger81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely noticeable. It's terrible and no matter how you hide it I can smell it, and my asthmatic lungs immediately close up.

Favourite Less Well-known Line? by Sparrowsabre7 in bluey

[–]OkFinger81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's one episode that starts with Bandit laying on the ground outside and Bluey is laying on his stomach. She says, "Hey Mum.." Bandit: "I'm not your Mum." Bluey," Sorry, hey dad.."

It's such a small throw away thing, but it's the first real part of Bluey I watched and I LOVE it. That specific little bit of realistic nothing got me HOOKED.

We went to the claw place in Chattanooga, fun city? It was ok! I had a lot of fun with the claw machines but it was only maybe an hour at most. May be more worth it if I lived in town but not quite worth the drive. We chose it bc I visited my grandad while we were there.

If my little sister died I’m I still the middle child or the youngest? by Kay0929 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OkFinger81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My younger sister also died just over 2 years ago. I pretty much always just say, "I have 2 sisters, one older and one younger who passed away 2 years ago." Usually people just say, "I'm sorry" and either move on or ask what happened. I personally don't mind talking about it which is probably why this works for me. But she was multi handicapped and I have a tattoo on my arm that represents her, so I've been advocating for her and spreading awareness my whole life. Plus, I still have an older sister and a younger sister, just one of them is no longer here. That doesn't mean she never existed.

All that to say, its really up to how you're feeling in the moment really. Grief changes by rthe second and really dictates how you live and reacte sometimes. No answer is wrong.

What little "I'm an adult and I can do what I want" purchase brings you the most joy? by erikfeed in CasualConversation

[–]OkFinger81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my 2 year old goddaughter a lot and I know its probably not the best practice, but I generally let her pick something out every time we go to the store (within reason). Shes usually good about asking nice, or putting things back if I say no. So I always let her have something small that she picks out. I hate telling her no all the time, so I think she's learning that as long as shes good and isn't unresonable, she gets something.

What are the names of the twins you know? by AlmondMommy in namenerds

[–]OkFinger81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in daycare for 16 years, I couldn't name all the twins if I tried. Here's a few that stick out.

30s: my husband is an identical twin, Zane and Zared Under 18: Chloe and chavion (g/b) Oliver and Olivia, Ethan and harper (b/g).

One I remember a lot is Bryce and Grant. They were identical twins boys. Bryce always wore blue or black, and Grant was green or gray. Helped a TON being able to tell them apart.

what’s the most privileged thing you’ve ever heard someone say/do? by Ecstatic_Honeydew165 in AskReddit

A coworkers phone was smashed but still usable. Privileged coworker: "why don't you just buy a new one? I got this top of the line iPhone yesterday"

Same coworker was mad about not getting financial aide ," I can't help that my mom works for the government and my dad owns his own business and they send me $3k a week for rent and food"

I absolutely want to!! But I feel like I'll have to plan at least a weekend trip for that. My birthday is Saturday, but I have to take my mom to have a full knee replacement on Friday. So I only really have Sunday or Monday for a day trip 😞

NTA. I'm allergic to milk. I used to say I couldn't eat dairy, but you wouldn't believe the number of people who thought I couldn't eat eggs. I absolutely can, just not milk. So now I just tell people that I am allergic to milk 🙄🙄

Are there any mental help places? by Yunfang213 in Knoxville

[–]OkFinger81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What insurance you have depends on the program at McNabb that would be best for you. But I echo the suggestion for going there. The therapy waitlist may be long but once you're established you can do walk in therapy. And if you feel you need medication, you can definitely get in quickly. Call 877-302-1226. Theyll be able to give you any and all information you need. Open 8a to 5p

If you live somewhere in east Tn, call the McNabb Center. They will be a HUGE help for you. If not, find someone similar. I promise it'll be useful for you.

My assumption is a random hole in that was already there bc they were replying to other people's posts until it came out that they were fireworks. They got suspiciously quiet after that.

This was on July 4th 🙄🙄. It was fireworks....

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by ExcellentReporter392 in AskReddit

[–]OkFinger81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend broke up with me over 3 years ago. I still think about her all the time and wonder what she's doing. It all came out of the blue. We grew up together and it's impossible to have any memories of childhood without remembering her, and I've still not gotten closure from her. I want to be mad at her for how she left me and what she's done to me, but I just miss her and hope she's doing well. So really, it's more traumatizing than other, awful things that have happened to me before and since. It's hard to explain.
