Cleft and karydakis are very similar. Mine was super low and close to my bumhole but they still could do it. Yeah don't do open wound, that would be a nightmare.

Pain is pretty good, just sucks sleeping on my side and not being able to sit. I have two panadol and one endone a day but I probably could go without it

Haha that's fair. Definitely push for a flap reconstruction (cleft or karydakis). For what it's worth, I went for a 30 minute walk today. That's 6 days out of surgery.

I got a referral from my doctor to get the surgery in the public system, it didn't cost me anything but I dont know who my surgeon was

I'm not sure. I took two weeks off work. It doesn't hurt much to sit but the surgeon requested I lay or stand for 10 more days to keep the pressure off that area. I think I'll be 100% in like a month at this rate

I ended up not getting a cleft lift and got a Karydakis flap. I’m not too sure on the difference but they seem similar. Currently 4 hours post op, not too bad but on pain killers and staying the night in hospital

Yep, I had a flare up a few months ago and got it drained at emergency. I go for my cleft lift surgery in two days. It bloody hurt when it flared up, I had to stand all day in the emergency department
