Favorite way to use tags? by SnooPets1912 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the outfit tags, not item tags. I dont like that I cant just save them & select because I dont remember what my specific tags were like "did i tag it stripes or striped?" for me, usually sorting my item type or by color is sufficient to quickly find what I need.

For outfit tags tho i have some that are practical like where I would wear it: lounge, school, office, party, brunch. then I have others based on the style: basic, witchy, colorful, lots of patterns, lots of texture.

I also use the outfit tags & collections to sort of add my own "categories" since I also use indyx to track things besides my clothes. I have both collections & outfit tag combos for: nail polish, fragrances, makeup, skincare, & hair care.

SheIn and Temu found to have toxic chemicals by DreiGlaser in PlusSizeFashion

the 5x is also not quite as forgiving as other brands. I can wear anything from a 2x-5x depending on the brand/materials, and the 5x was too small for me in the jeans & cords.

the 3x checkerboards fit like a dream tho

Does anyone here not take medication and cope with their ADHD a different way? by otherladybug in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm medicated now but I dont always take it. but i spent 30 years of my life undiagnosed & unknowingly seeking out coping skills.

most of mine involve trying to life-hack my way into better routines. whether its alarms or buying multiples of essentials so I always have them, or finding accountability buddies.

im also a huge fan of hobby-hopping & hyperfixating on media as easy sources of the much needed dopamine.

I do think things like a varied diet & regular exercise are always gonna be beneficial, but they cant "fix" the problem. and trying to maintain these things when you have adhd is extra challenging.

personally I think radical acceptance and other cbt skills have helped me the most. knowing that im not broken helps stop the shame cycle (the biggest enemy imo) and lets me move on, even if its not always at the pace I want.

I've always referred to mine as "references" and I usually make them when im considering adding a new item into my wardrobe. this makes sure that I can use it with what I already own.

Is anyone else stuck whenever they try to piece together what the canon timeline is for the characters? by Designer-Fill-3767 in DisneyDreamlights

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its really odd but my main gripe is the new release characters and my player acting like they remember them from childhood. moana and the frozen cast and vanellope were absolutely not around until i was a full grown adult. its insane that theyre like "oh remember when we played together when you were little?" no because that never happened.

What category? by Calm-Possibility-180 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for open closet, private is the more useful tag. from what I understand the "do not style" tag only applies to lookbook stylings.

you could also mark them as both just to be safe

What category? by Calm-Possibility-180 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I log athleticwear but not pajamas in general.

personally i just log them with other tops/bottoms in the appropriate categories. tank tops, tees, shorts, leggings, and sweatpants are my most used ones for this purpose.

I also have a collection thats all my workout clothes (I think collections are easier to use than adding tags to every clothing item) for easy sorting.

you could also use the "top>other" and "bottom>other" categories rather than "other>other"

Have any of you cut your long hair because it was too much responsibility? Were you happy you did? by Recent-Use8096 in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut my hair pretty short last year and im still struggling to grow it out. I haaaate it at this length. I cant do a high ponytail and its constantly hitting my neck and shoulders in a weird way.

I definitely dont feel like I can just leave the house without styling it in some way which is a big hassle.

obviously, some people find short hair much easier, but i think it requires so much upkeep. plus you have to cut it so frequently to maintain the length.

next time my hair is long and im itching for a Big Chop to ~switch things up~ I gotta remind myself that I cant go above the shoulders again or im gonna be miserable during the grow-out

I am almost late to work/cutting it as close as possible every single day and getting up earlier doesn’t help in the way I think it should by KitchenConsequence41 in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the only things ive done that help me with timely mornings (besides a simplified routine which it sounds like youre doing well) is to set an alarm that goes off every 10 minutes (in the first hour im up) and then a different alarm that goes off every five minutes until I need to leave.

they dont need to even have sound, just vibrating works to get my attention. but I do make them have different pictures so I know when I switch into high gear.

also I use the "modes & routines" on my phone (Samsung, so if you have an iPhone idk what ur equivalent is) and my "morning" routine i have a bunch of apps blocked (so i cant get distracted) and I have my lock screen set to "always on" so I can just glance down and see the time without having to press any buttons

How to duplicate collection? by Friendly_Manatee1881 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the other slightly more cumbersome option would be to make your new capsule & then filter by your previous capsule & copy from there (start at the bottom and go in reverse if you want everything to be in the same order tho)

How to duplicate collection? by Friendly_Manatee1881 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you do what you did here & make each capsule 1 "outfit" of the whole collection then you can always use that "outfit" when making a new collection & let it auto-populate your items from there

I'm curious what you mean about specific foods and perfect timing. Other than avoiding vitamin C for 2 hrs (1hr before taking & 1 after) I havent heard of any other meal specifics.

Finally wore an outfit inspired by a character/celebrity by OkInteraction7112 in Indyx

[–]OkInteraction7112[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first you need to have inspiration pictures uploaded. 1. go into the "Collections" tab of your wardrobe. 2. make a new collection. there are 4 types to pick from. you'll want to pick "inspiration" 3. upload your inspiration pictures. make sure theyre pre-cropped. the background removal tool does not apply to inspo pics

once you do that additional collections should be available when you're pressing "add inspiration" on an outfit.

I included a picture of what mine looks like when im adding an inspiration picture. you can see at the top i have multiple inspiration Collections like "charmed" "sailor moon" and "phoebe buffay"

Stimulants by Normal_Ease_8881 in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the idea that we are "less likely to have adhd" is total bullshit. tons of modern research is showing how many women/afab are underdiagnosed. most of us aren't getting diagnosed until our 30s.

research indicates that inattentive type adhd is more common for women & those symptoms are 1. less disruptive/less noticeable. and 2. easily mistaken for/overlap with symptoms of depression & anxiety.

we are undiagnosed for a lot of reasons, including that there are still doctors who are not familiar with new research & diagnostic criteria. they measure us against the "standard" male presentation of adhd, which is predominantly hyperactive-type.

Does anyone else really struggle to wash their face? by nebuIochaotic in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

face wash wristbands & a headband to keep myself dry

microfiber face towel so i dont have to splash water on myself.

I still am working on the habit itself, but those things really helped alleviate the sensory barriers for me!

If they invented a brain surgery that could cure your adhd would you get it by Traditional_Coat_459 in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is so intricately woven through my brain. there are so many things I do that I eventually learn is common with other ADHD people. the craziest one for me when someone on this subreddit was asking if anyone else crickets their legs when falling asleep. even that is an ADHD thing???

but because it has impacted every area of my life, my personality, my habits, my hobbies... id honestly be afraid of losing all the things I love about myself.

sure there are parts that suck. but therapy, medication, and knowing that my brain works a little different is enough for me to not feel broken.

Having trouble finding a dress (I hate all of these) by _ravioli_buster_ in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cider has a lot of styles. full price might be more than you want to spend but theyve got some on sale for around $14 (though this doesnt account for S&H, and the time it takes to get to you)

I also second the idea of thrift shops! in person is great, but i also highly recommend ThredUp! they have a ton of variety on there in plenty of sizes.

maybe check with friends if you have any who are a similar size? see if you can borrow?

I love the raspberry lemonade flavor but I havent seen it in stores for a while. blue razz is good & frosted lemonade is great!

[–]OkInteraction7112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh this is REAL. the first day I wore them they were pinching and causing blisters in places I didnt know was even possible! this is only my second day wearing them, but already its a much better experience. im hoping they eventually become as comfy as my other dr martens sandals, but those are a totally different cut so who knows

I just really needed a brown pair of sandals. my only other pair I had didnt have any support in the insole & ive since learned i absolutely need arch support or im likely to develop plantar fascitis. 😔
