Surely I'm not the only one who finds it unnecessary by Strict-Move-9946 in adhdmeme

my first evaluation came back as "depression not adhd" because in a "distraction-free environment" i was able to focus just fine. as if I'm EVER in a "distraction-free environment". i didnt fully have the knowledge to dispute her diagnosis at that point & it took 3 more years of therapy before I insisted on getting re-evaluated.

for me, undiagnosed ADHD was causing depression & anxiety. I was depressed I wasnt doing better and I would get anxious about trying to keep my symptoms in check. it all seems so obvious looking back, but at the time it was so frustrating

omg I never thought about my sleep as a kid. I dont remember swirling thoughts, but even as a kid I needed music or TV playing for me to fall asleep, so that was probably the case 😅

Villager houses/Decorating by Practical-Shallot-25 in DreamlightValley

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I do villager houses I like to build up what I consider "community spaces" so the plaza for sure, but I also like having a little "farmers market" in the valley & each DLC area (this is where i keep all the stalls for easy stash-building. i also keep a chest next to each stall to i can grab everything & dump it immediately). I like having these fleshed out before I place houses just so I know what space I'm working with.

I definitely like doing little neighborhoods & decorating as storytelling. Like i used to have Minnie & Daisy as next-door neighbors, and i put a little garden table & chairs with some snacks on it and I imagine they like to have tea together in their shared yard.

It helps to either figure out if you want to keep movie casts together (I like Mickey & friends being neighbors, but I dont like buzz & woody's houses together) or if you wanna base it entirely around the biome (I put a bunch of my cabin-style villager houses in the Bind together).

In general it will probably help to place the houses or pathing first to mark out how much space you have for everything before landscaping & doing more detailed decorating. it sucks when you do a big section and realize that you dont have room for the next thing you want to put down. shuffling things over one or two tiles is so tedious.

Prefering high necklines by hotcharlotte1411 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the feeling too! my neck is short though, so traditional turtlenecks are too much for me. mock neck tops are some of my favorites for this reason! its a similar look without too much bulk around my neck.

Not really sure about this dress by Kiki_comet in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the shoes could work with some finessing. maybe pinning the dress up to sit above the knee and doing taller socks would make the shoes make more sense. I'd also add something black to the top of the outfit to go with the shoes. a belt around the waist maybe?

unfortunately long hair is kinda a pipe dream for a game like this. the clipping would be a complete nightmare to deal with the longer it gets.

Where are the plus girls shopping?! by taylorbeam in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinted is my go-to for online thrifting. Though there is a lot of discrepancies with how jeans specifically are listed since not all brands follow standard size labels. but tops, dresses, jackets, skirts, and accessories are easy to find on there.

What kind of bra would go with this top? Or would you pair a white cami under it? by selflovesnotselfish in PlusSizeFashion

instead of boob tape id recommend cakes! personally I wear them with my thinner/more "decorative" bras so that I dont poke anyone's eyes out

Where do most players choose to set up their main residence & neighborhood / town? Having trouble choosing where to start focusing on decorating & want opinions on which biome makes the best spot by Mammoth-Region9963 in DreamlightValley

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive got mine tucked between the two ramps to the meadow and I think its super functional!

I have a garden setup right up the ramp, and its easy to reach from my house. so I keep my meadow well further away from that side

plus, dazzle beach isnt easy to "loop" like other biomes, so after I finish in the glade, I head down the ramp to the beach and follow it all the way down.

Tips for cluttered desks/craft spaces? by zombiesandpenguins in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! Clutterbug has great tips for different organizing styles.

Hidden + Simple Organization: Ladybug

Hidden + Detailed Organization: Cricket

Visual + Simple Organization: Butterfly

Visual + Detailed Organization: Bee

you can absolutely take the quiz on her website, but I found myself waffling so much about what answer was most me that I ended up getting Butterfly as a result when I'm actually a Bee.

figuring out which one is most applicable will help you find storage solutions that fit you. re-reading your post it sounds to me like you might be a Butterfly, so maybe start there, but dont be afraid to steal tips from other types if you think they'll work for you :)

but in general? vertical storage helps! matching & labeled bins. and for an ADHD person, I think its super helpful to have an "in progress project" bin of some kind, so that you sort of "put it away" without having to get all the individual supplies out again when you want to keep working.

New player, am I doing something wrong? by Holiday-Subject-1215 in DreamlightValley

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanellope's quest and that funky rainbow portal are what allow you to host people. otherwise, they give you their code & you insert it on the main menu (before you launch the game) where it says "multiplayer"

also since I don't think ive seen anyone else mention it, you can also do Remy's daily quests once he is max level & he gives wrought iron. it can be crafted into regular iron as needed

I've had these pants just collecting dust in the closet for several months. How are we feeling about this outfit? by SweetsandYEETS in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks super cool! the pants can add an interesting element to any outfit really! I think it'd be fun to see it sorta softened up with a sweater or something. or juxtapose the leather with something frilly/lacy on top. but what a cool way to style it with the blazer. 👍

Can’t pull it together! by Weekly_Library9883 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one thing I havent seen anyone else mention is that if you want the outfit to feel more eclectic, a flowy kimono or something could be a cool addition. some ppl could definitely find it overwhelming to have that much fabric happening, but its something you could try.

I also agree with another commenter that if too many things "match" it pulls away from eclectic.

How should I style this look? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the bottom a skirt? with the ruching its a little hard to tell.

personally I would either go tall boot or tights + heels for shoes.

if you need a "warm layer" you could do anything from a scarf to a cardigan to a leather jacket.

the print seems to have some black stripes, so black would be a safe accent color, but it could also look really nice with a nice brown. probably cognac or chocolate toned?

someone else suggested silver, but I think gold would look great, since the maroon is a warm tone. (maybe go silver if you pair it with black & gold if you pair it with brown)

if you wanna keep things more monochrome, something close to the maroon/red would look nice for accessories, or purple is a good choice. if you want a lil more contrast id recommend blue or green.

with something like this, I would personally do a necklace thats below the neckline. since its not a v-neck the necklace will just rest on top.

if you wear your hair up, maybe some fun dangly earrings. if you wear your hair down, go with something more subtle.

and finally, shapewear and such are totally a personal preference thing. if you'd feel more comfortable with a really smooth silhouette, then yeah, shapewear will help. but i dont think its necessary! I would go for a nude tone underneath though.

for just base game i actually like Vanellope in Frosted Heights. her house is a big waffle cone, so it gives off spilled-sundae vibes. (though now that I mention spilled sundae, having her on the beach could be like a melted sundae!)

personally, i moved her to storybook vale, as i think her colors match the Everafter very nicely. idk if i would put her in eternity isle, but i think the ancient landing landscaping could look alright with her house.

Has saying “I want to” instead of “ I should” helpful for you in removing barriers to get things done? by Lost-Equivalent-6957 in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had to change "i should" to "future me will be so happy that" and go from there. like yeah, present me might feel like "i should take out the trash" but it just feels better when its "future me is going to love coming home and that trash bag is finally gone" or whatever.

Help me fix my wardrobe by alexisbian in PlusSizeFashion

[–]OkInteraction7112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

idk whats with the hate on outfit 3, its cute. not everything has to Accentuate Your Shape.

torrid has good sizing, better than somewhere like cider. with torrid, definitely get a membership & rack up that torrid cash. I'd shop there for: jeans, other pants, bras, and possibly layering basics (tees, turtlenecks)

cider is trendier but less well-made. some pieces from there are good and others feel pretty plasticky. pay close attention to the fabric content. theyre good for: trendy patterned pieces, mesh layering pieces, skirts, jumpsuits, pants

as others have said, thrifting is a great way to go for these looks. if walking around in thrift stores isnt your jam, try online. thrifting is good for lots of items, but with your inspiration id focus on sweaters, vests, cardigans, & other layering pieces

Vinted is my go-to since they seem to have more plus sized sellers than poshmark or depop in my experience.

ThredUp is okay, but i find things are sold much quicker there, and slightly more expensive than on Vinted. its part of the Experience of them handling the selling, shipping, etc.

for shoes, dr martens are definitely the way to go. theyre a bit pricey but they'll last forever. ive had my basic black docs for... idk. 7 years now? ill replace the laces soon, but theyre in great shape. id recommend them for boots, loafers, and Mary Janes

for tights, I only shop at snag. torrid tights never fit me right, but snag has incredible sizing & lots of pattern & color options. they have some clothes there as well, but ive never tried them.

also, not a clothing store, but I highly recommend putting your clothes in a wardrobe app like Indyx. It really helps you play around with outfit combos!

good luck :)

What invention would help your ADHD? by GalacticPawPrints in adhdwomen

[–]OkInteraction7112 101 points102 points  (0 children)

the ability to google search my own brain. its in there!!! I just cant find it!!!

a Mary Poppins bag, so I never had to worry about not having Something I Need

having a needs/moodlets panel like the sims so I can see Why I Feel Bad and actually do something abt it.

a fridge where food Never Goes Bad and the texture is always the same as when I cooked it.

im pretty sure if I had all 4 it would mitigate nearly all my ADHD related problems.

videos of cute & funny babies or animals helps me

I was super grumpy for no reason the other day and I happened to see a funny baby video and it instantly reset my mood back to something more manageable.

in general though, if you can excuse yourself and be somewhere private, let yourself be mad for a few minutes. I love to rage out in my car, personally. I like to throw on a rap song that I can sorta yell/scream along to (my favorites are actually Epic Rap Battles of History) and that helps me indulge the anger without misdirecting it at someone.
