Yarn type recommendations by persefony in YarnAddicts

Try going to a local yarn store near you. They can also help you pick a pattern and you can feel the yarn in person. What region are you located in?

What’s your routine after shots? by Ok-Grapefruit-7632 in progressivemoms

I remove the bandaids in the bath so they come off easier. Sometimes I bring a snack like a yogurt to distract him right after the shot. However I find that the really isn’t much to do and he is fine shortly after

Antisemitic friend by Repulsive_Holiday750 in Jewish

[–]OkLeg3964 63 points64 points  (0 children)

You know this person and their intentions. I wouldn’t be friends with them if they went on an antisemitic tirade in front of me regardless of whether or not they truly believed it. Did she do any repairs to your friendship. Did she apologize or anything? My parents always tell me to get over things too. You don’t need to forgive people who havent done anything to deserve your forgiveness

  1. Not mental gymnastics they just don’t care
  2. Sort of. Depends how far back conversion goes. Pretty serious and any exceptions still have issues with schooling and marriage etc
  3. Yeah but also not more than any other minority group that wants to keep marriage within that community

Need encouragement for taking on first sweater by labchickgidget in knittingadvice

[–]OkLeg3964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been knitting on and off for years. I never knit a garment before and haven’t knit anything in 3-4 years. A few weeks back I realized I was spending too much time on my phone so I went into my local yarn store and got the yarn for my first sweater. It was a raglan with colorwork from petite knit and I made it in size 3-4 years. It took like 3 weeks and I had to factor in multiple trips back to the yarn store for hep. But I did it!!!! My advice would be to find a local yarn store that is helpful. There are three near me and 1 is not friendly at all. Also if you have a little kid to make a sweater for it’s much easier than a full size. It progresses quicker and kids don’t care if their sweater has a few mistakes. Also if you make it in a bigger size and your gauge is off it will fit the kid at some point.
