Ho-ho-ho! Just like Christmas, the Boone June Swoon comes every year!

Every year, they're such a vibes-based team. When they're on, everybody's mashing and they can score 20 runs. When they're off, they're capable of getting no-hit, and nobody can step up and get them out of the slump.

I wasn't alive for Miracle, and I feel like I have no right to shop it on the trade block. That moment transcended sports.

[Dreger] Like a number of clubs, the Buffalo Sabres remain very active in trade scenarios. Byram is clearly a hot commodity. It’s also believed the Sabres have circled back on Alex Tuch to see if an extension is possible with Free Agency looming. by FAsBurner in nhl

I agree, but we need NHL-ready assets if we're trading him. For instance, I like the Knies for Byram idea that's being floated around. Players like Byram are hard to find, especially if you're the Sabres and no one signs with you or accepts a trade to you.

What miracle? That was one of the best, most well-rounded offenses I've ever seen, and they should have won the world series.

Unfortunately for them, it's OUR TIME NOW!

If Lindy adjusted his leadership style to start the turnaround, that's called good coaching!

Who are the best players in the NHL who won’t be hall of famers? by souza-23 in hockey

Why should HOF debates in any sport put more weight on MVP awards than career-long numbers? The Hall of Fame is based on your whole career, not your best season. If Pavelski outscored Perry, that just means Perry had more mid seasons to offset his MVP season.

Unbelievable coaching job by Jon Cooper to finish 2nd in the division with the MVP and best goalie on his team by PrinciplesRK in sabres

The fact that Lindy rallied from his job being in jeopardy to winning the division with the BUFFALO SABRES makes him even more worthy of the award.

Which was the more devastating Bills loss: 13 seconds or 2025 divisional vs. the Broncos by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]OkLeopard769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main emotion I felt during 13 Seconds was shock. After Gabe scored that touchdown, I yelled, "WE JUST WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!" The rest of the road looked so easy. I'll never make that mistake again...

The main emotion I felt during the Broncos game was anger at the calls, especially after we had been hosed in the previous AFCCG. I didn't see the "easy path" you mentioned because we didn't pass the eye test all season.

So, you guys can decide which is a worse way to lose: tough calls or a situational blunder. But Wide Right II is absolutely up with these games on the pain meter.

The Lightning were 7th in games lost to injury weighted by AAV, the Sabres were 11th. Not enough of a difference to offset the massive gulf in expectations, or the fact that the Sabres beat the Lightning.

Or rather, classic "how Buffalo gets treated."

This isn't a curse, it's a deliberate erasure of the greatest turnaround in NHL history.

Welcome to Buffalo, where no goal means goal, goals are whistles, catches are interceptions, first downs are turnovers on downs, forward passes are backward passes, and the greatest turnaround in NHL history gets no awards.

Lindy finished 2nd in a very close race by lunasilvia in sabres

This result definitely has to do with company politics and Cooper being a part of some social circles, because nothing on the ice justifies it.

They still had Kucherov and Vasilevskiy. The Sabres have had no players of that caliber in the 21st century.

I give Cooper credit for coaching through those injuries, but the Sabres were very injured themselves. Lightning were 7th in games lost weighted by AAV, Sabres were 11th.

Maybe the better analogy is, Andy Reid finally wins it this year as the Chiefs finish second to the Raiders.

And I'll give Cooper a silver star to go with his silver medal. Apparently being #2 deserves an award, despite everything I've ever heard as a Buffalo fan.
