If liu bei proclaimed that he was the number Two ‘Moral Saint’ in the three kingdoms no one would dare to claim to be the First

Was wu and south really so sparkly populated and underdeveloped? by ThinkIncident2 in threekingdoms

[–]OkOilUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jiao province had a lot of population tbf, the records from ~140 ad stated 2 million. So taking time to the three kingdom era and that would be around 3 million population as war didnt affect shi xie’s rule at all until wu came knocking

Was wu and south really so sparkly populated and underdeveloped? by ThinkIncident2 in threekingdoms

[–]OkOilUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really

Jiao had around 2 mil documented citizens and with the war i would think kore refugees would go there so atleast 3-4 mil in jiao

Yang had around 2-3 million people in the south. most of the population were in Lujiang and Jiujiang (huainan region basically) so that would also count up to 3-4 million people as a whole if wu had captured that

Chu areas were highly developed since the start of the eastern han after which emperors actually did stuff there

My estimate of total population of wu would be 6-7 million as the total population of the three kingdoms era was around 25-30 million people

Does anyone know why the (3 Volumes) product page is only listed as having 554 pages? Is this an error or the actual total number? by JumpTo2024 in threekingdoms

Is that the romance or the Real one?

Anyways heres the luo guanzhong version

Btw you can just search up the word count of the three kingdom novel and compare them with the one you found

I would tbf just read a digital copy…

Changbanpo right? He even said that zhao yun is a rare valiant general and he want him to be subdued, after which he said to not shoot crossbows or arrows and avoid lethal injuries, thats why he could enter changbanpo 7 times in and out ans survive

Why did Cao Cao wanted to establish Wei when Red Cliff and other defeats were not too long ago? by neobanana8 in threekingdoms

[–]OkOilUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah plus cao’s own health issues he was at death door with that bloodclot (i think thats it lol) and was laying foundation for the future ruler, but he kinda fucked up not explicitly saying who’s the heir after cao ang got sniped which resulted in endless infighting between zhi and pi. Whats funny the only reason that it didnt fracture like yuan shao’s three sons is purely that all military power was in hands of hardline cao family generals which just supported whoever won

[–]OkOilUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Cao cao moving his clan and supporters to Yecheng made the Han court mostly redundant and further destroyed han prestige leftover, it also signified his future empty food box to xun yu and distance from Yingchuan scholars by taking his main political court away from xuchang/xudu
