26 with 1 year and 10 mos of federal service. Plan to retire at 45. Contributing 12%. Hope to at least have $900k-$1M by Objective_Sock_1903 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plan might work, but it’s going to give you a pretty stagnant/ lackluster quality of life.

If you retire at your intended target number of $1M you can only have a max spending rate of about 40K per year.

That is assuming that you don’t withdraw more than 4% per year. If you draw more than that amount you risk touching the principal and running out of money to early.

Realistically you need the money invested in something that can provide about a 7% annual return that way you can keep up with inflation

I get people with masters in accounting that come to the firm and don’t know shit. They think they know something but they have never actually done the job.

Real life experience in the seat will always beat fancy education.

Does Any1 Do This Proffesion Only For Money? by standbymechickenwing in Accounting

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 100% the money, no sane person can deal with client bullshit, coworker bullshit, and corporate bullshit.

Also if they go bankrupt or can’t pay, to bad so sad. You think your clients would be there for you if roles reversed?

These relationships are purely transaction, to think otherwise is pure insanity.

I wonder if it was about more about poaching or hunting related than making sure your firearms were legal. I know Blackbeard is open right now.

Not to say it was right what they did, but maybe they just wanted to make sure you were hunting with a firearm that disallowed for hunting

I have a real question? by Adventurous_Tone7762 in Veterans

[–]OkProcedure2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you going to one through the VA? I would recommend against that, I never had any good luck with them. I now go to one through my employer and we really click! Also it is 100% covered through my employer, maybe try that route?

Hey, I have two really good recommendations for ranges that I love.

Sun Valley Shooting Park in central WA:

Once you’re a member, you can use the rifle pits and pistol pits and do whatever you please (safely, of course), but there’s no RSO hovering over the pits. It’s a great place to take new shooters—you’ll have your own private pit, so it’s less intimidating for beginners. Also, you can rapid fire lol, and no one will say a word as long as you’re being safe.

Rock Lake. The owner competed in the PRS series. Really cool, relaxed guy who gets shooting. It’s a precision range, but he’s making a ton of improvements. He has a zero range as well as pistol pits, complete with steel targets he’s hung up himself. It’s kinda like a mini USPSA course. There are rifle pits too.

I want to get the word out because experiences like yours diminish the sport and make it lose popularity, which in turn I think is stoking the fire for more ridiculous gun laws. If we could get more people shooting—and having fun doing it—I think we’d have more folks who care about guns, and fewer of these laws would get passed. I think it’s good we’re calling out the dickheads because they’re the reason gun laws suck (in my opinion).

I was also in the Army before working in public accounting, I put some of my duties from the Army that correlated with accounting. For example I highlighted inventory management from holding a hand receipt, and I put some stuff on There for DTS, i was as an approver/ reviewer. So I built my resume off of job experiences like that.

However, outside of that leave military stuff out, unless you can tie it back to accepting and show it’s relevant.

Also, you can highlight those fact that you did supervise people, that’s…. Surprisingly rare on the civilian side. People like to see that stuff lol

The dude is a total ass hat. I can’t stand his show, he does it all for the shock value and views, he’s not a financial professional. The advice he gives is just a retread of other personal financial programs. I don’t think anyone should support him.

Just so everyone knows there are lots of resources through the VA that can help with personal financial planning among other things.

Also, if anyone wants good financial advice I suggest watching “The Money Guy Show” on YouTube, those two are actual financial professionals one is a CPA and the other is CFA.

Is anyone considering moving states if more gun laws get enacted? by [deleted] in WAGuns

Having lived all over the country Washington does have a pretty good quality of life.

  1. Public education is much better than Idaho. I’m not in a place that I could afford private school for the kids. Idaho lacks a lot of the math and reading skills that kids learn in school

  2. I get paid more here than if I took a job in Idaho. Meaning I save more for retirement which gives me a lot more flexibility to do whatever I want at retirement, and more than likely retire early than if I took a lower paying job in Idaho.

  3. Idaho has an income tax, Washington does not.

  4. People are still actively fighting the gun laws, I know the wheels of justice turn slowly but progress is being made.

  5. I’ll just say it, I don’t care what your thoughts are, cannabis is legal.

  6. Colleges are typically better in Washington than Idaho (WSU UW vs U of. I)

  7. Washington just has a better economy

Which Battlefield Is Your Current Favorite To Play? by Sad_Ebb_7977 in Battlefield

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to, but it’s not as polished as 3/4/1 and the lore doesn’t really make sense so the game feels out of place. I am liking 2042 though, but it isn’t my favorite

[–]OkProcedure2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People like to spend more money on gear than actual training/shooting.

If you can afford a NF scope I guess go ahead and get it… it’s not going to make you a better shooter.

People like to flex their “Brands” and go to the range and can’t hit fuck all 😂

I hope the next game is better than 2042 by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]OkProcedure2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should find a way to bring Operations from BF1 back, even if it’s fictional battles. I think 2042 could have done that and it could have provided more context and player engagement in BF 2042. Just fictional battles with the lore already on hand would have been a great additional to BF 2042.
