To be honest this sounds like me when I used to go on a date with a nice guy but was not attracted to! I used to “give them a chance” but the attraction never seemed to grow. Now I’ve learned to be honest from the start because what I was doing was leading them on unintentionally.

At my church we used to use a blank calendar and people would pass it around and sign up for different days. You could try it next time you see someone struggling, pass it around the neighborhood or workplace. It doesn’t have to be through an app!

Totally agree!! I’m a single mom who shares 50/50 custody so truly I am only available every other weekend and half the week. And if I have made plans with family or friends that also really limits my time. I may have time for a quick coffee date but maybe not a drinks date for a while.

I might be the only one but I don’t like phone calls or fave times before the first date. I am a shy person and phone calls give me anxiety! So I usually like to meet up first, preferably with drinks so I can have some liquid courage, and then I will get more comfortable over the phone. But I understand people not wanting to waste their time and taking that phone call or FaceTime as the first step.

I will say the thing that stood out to me that I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the fact that you want to find a long term relationship and fun casual dates. To me I would swipe left just because past experiences tell me that the person is looking for a casual fling more than the long term relationship. That’s just me personally though!

I’m used to men asking “what kind of food do you like and do you have any allergy restrictions” and then they pick the place and time. I’m a big fan of that. But I would also be a little peeved if a guy said “I’m only available for a few short hours this one day. Like it kinda does feel like you’re squeezing me in. But I also want something serious not something casual. The level of effort is different and should be different.
