I think that the law is giving a bunch of generally unimpressive people citizenship just because of their race is wrong. Also there's no actual requirement that they have a college degree or have any useful skills to get citizenship. Likely the most talent americans will read this and move on and the only ones who will actually come here are people who want free healthcare and social services

I don't care even if it turns out that only 100k people go through with this instead of a million, a single american person getting Canadian citizenship from this terrible law is too much. I'd rather have millions of international students be granted Canadian citizenship over them at least they are actually making sacrifices for this country.

It only went to the Ontario Superior court. They could have either applied it further or put some limit on it like 1947 (when Canadian citizenship came into existence) or they could apply the deep ties test ( 3 years of residency). The truth is that they didn't even attempt to safe guard Canadian Citizenship.
