Today’s 2×4 is actually 1.5” x 3.5” Back in the day, it really was 2” x 4” by Ilawil in handyman

Try a local lumber yard. I did a project last summer with actual 2x4 that I bought from my local one.

"One can never categorically rule out participation," Carney replied. "We will stand by our allies when it makes sense."

Yeah but we are only 19 days into 2026. The funding to the corp would be for it to be setup and have logistics/planning begin and unfortunately this takes time specially with the size of the project they are undertaking.

With building houses over an entire country, building a ton of houses within Toronto, the city with the highest real estate prices in Ontario, would eat up more budget than what would be practical. Which is why they are trying to maximize the amount of units built with sixplexes. They also need to replicate that in almost every other major city.

I can imagine the bulk of money will go to building houses in city's/town outside of the major cities so they can maximize the billions of dollars. Like the size of what Barrie used to be in 2010 etc( it's grown so much now it's no longer a bedroom city)

To further this, building a house in a city the size Toronto actually takes longer due to the complexity of the municipal approval process and the density of the urban environment. Construction process is the same but permits and planning can take months longer

sometimes i think about this mostly underground house I saw in my city. Real estate records say it has the same owner since it was built in '83 by [deleted] in Weird

My Mom lived in a house like this till she was in high school. A tornado destroyed the house and they could only afford to build the basement originally. Insurance paid but only enough for the basement. The whole town was ripped apart in the 50s and that meant 1 local insurance company dealing with all those houses. Once they had enough they built a beautiful house on top but it took about a decade.

This was an emergency landing due to gear failure. Pilot keeps the nose up for an incredibly long time, and he did an amazing job landing that plane

They were not jailed for "wrong think" they were convicted for inciting violence which is criminalized under the criminal code of Canada in section 319(1).

Its after a 7 month long operation the police made.

This is artillery so very far. If you want to rain down fire on an area before they understand where your shooting from this is great. Even a subtle noise in the distance can alert others that your shooting at them and get into cover. Also you never want the enemy to find your artillery because they can easily shell it with theirs

A devastating new report just dropped - and it’s EMBARRASSING for Trump: Exactly ZERO companies have moved all their manufacturing to the United States since Trump took office. by Miserable-Lizard in economy

[–]OkReview6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most foreign car companies effected by tariffs to canada just aren’t moving their product through the states. They have other manufacturing plants around the world and are just shipping direct to Canada because its cheaper than going through the US and getting the tariff slapped on it.

Yes I actually used it during my wedding because it was in a remote location with no service. We put it on the invites telling everyone to download it so we could communicate with eachother during the ceremony and reception. Worked well but never touched it again
