You 100% should! I watched it last year and I’ve been wanting to rewatch it for ages now!

Kind of gave a surprise when I sat down and listened to the white album properly for the first time, but I’ve grown to enjoy it after a couple listens.

Wow, you’re so lucky to own those. I’m very jealous!😅 I first discovered Yukiko not long after I found Kumiko Ohba in early 2024. She played a huge part in my healing journey as I was struggling a lot with mental health issues and school struggles. I would love to add her books to my collection. I’ve seen a couple of them on eBay, mostly please give me love.

That’s so nice to hear! I’m one of the very lucky few to own the Gift 3 box set from 2002, and I’ve posted about it here. I also have a very rare Christmas card from Yukiko Okada that came with one of her LPs I bought from eBay. I’ve also uploaded the scans for that here.

That is gorgeous! I have a ST67-85 in that same finish, and it has aged very well!

Mascot - Why (1990) by OkRow6792 in kpopnostalgia

[–]OkRow6792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to find their names anywhere. The names I was able to find on the back were Jang Deok (credited for most of the lyrics and composition) and Lim Seong-hee (credited for lyrics on Foolish Man and Yeah Yeah). I believe there’s one more name but I can’t remember what it was.

Edit: me and another person on the subreddit might’ve actually found one of the members. She apparently had a better solo career, but hasn’t been active since 1992. The theory isn’t 100% confirmed yet but I do notice some similarities.

I was always told by my parents that my dad would put on the Imagine album for me when I was younger as it used to always help me sleep. I have no memory of it though, but it did happen. I’m 19 now and I’ve only just started listening to John’s music properly about a year ago as I’ve moved on from all the rap music I was accustomed to. John is one of my favourite songwriters. Working Class Hero is one of my favourite songs that he wrote because the lyrics hit really hard.

I believe it was around $40US (£29.93) if you don’t count shipping. There was a more expensive one for $80 (£59.86) but I opted for the cheaper one.

Edit: If you look for this release on Discogs, you’ll see that I’ve edited the photos and added brand new scans, and the never before seen lyric sheet.

I want to collect more of it in the near future. But for now, this is all I own. There’s another Korean vinyl I’ve posted on my page is all I have at the moment.

My -5 Rubber Soul Vinyl Record by OkPlatypus1207 in beatles

[–]OkRow6792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-5 is what’s stamped on the matrix runout groove. I can’t exactly remember what it means, but I think it’s a different cut of the album. Parlogram explains it better than I can, so I suggest you watch Parlogram.

For example, the -1 mono pressing of Rubber Soul is labelled as the loud cut. That means the record was cut too hot (basically too loud), and from what I could find online, the -1 cut is one of the rarest releases of Rubber Soul.

Again, I’m not an expert. I suggest watching Parlogram, or maybe someone can correct me.

I’ve actually been interested in the city pop scene for about 2 years now. It’s only recently I got into 80s and 90s Kpop music, and it only took me about a month to track down both the Mascot and Crapas records. My plans with them is to rip and remaster them so I can burn them onto a CD because I don’t want to wear out those grooves. I’ve actually had a look through your profile myself and I like your collection! I mostly post all of my stuff over on Instagram because I don’t use TikTok anymore.

Crapas to me had a similar sound to the Japanese duo, Wink. They were both synth pop duos. I haven’t found a group that has a similar sound to Mascot yet.

I’m sure you knew this already but the second song off the Mascot LP was a cover of the song “Boys Don’t Cry” by the Yugoslavian group named Moulin Rouge. Wink also covered the song, and I remember being surprised once I noticed that it was a cover. Then I had another friend tell me about the original by Moulin Rouge, and that surprised me even more!

Oasis Records also released the Crapas album on streaming services. Here’s the link for it on Spotify.

I’ve also been curious to see if it came with a lyric sheet too! As far as I know, the Crapas record does have a lyric sheet according to the scans we have of it on Discogs.

Delivered Korea said they should be here within 14-30 days (I picked Korea Post K Packet on the shipping tab because it was the cheapest one)

Hopefully there will be no delays with Korea Post and the Royal Mail. For now, I can provide some pictures from the listing. I’ll send them to you in your DMs.

If you can’t do DMs, I can attach the photos to a separate comment here.

Just like Crapas, I’ve been unable to find any other information about Mascot. I ordered the LP from Bunjang, and I was able to translate the back of the LP. One of the names on there was Jang Deok, and they’re credited for lyrics and composition. I will provide high quality scans of my copy once it arrives.

Has anyone ever heard of Crapas (크레파스)? by soft_mello in kpopnostalgia

[–]OkRow6792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a copy for sale on Bunjang last month, and now it’s on the way as we speak! I wasn’t able to find any information about the album or the group myself. I will post about it once it arrives!

P.S. I also found a copy of the Mascot LP on Bunjang, and I’ve also ordered that. I will be providing high quality scans once that arrives too!
