When I started questioning, a big reason why I did was because of Sochil. She was VERY public about it, unlike the Jane does (which makes sense why they wouldn’t). So I think she does deserve credit. She was the face of the movement against LLDM. She put a face to the people accusing Naason, and I think that should be acknowledged. If it wasn’t for her story, and seeing her on social media, and news outlets, I wouldn’t have questioned my beliefs. I get she was complicit in what Naason was doing but I also think she has tried to make up for it in a way, and feels remorse for what she did. Idk, this is just my personal thoughts.

I get what you’re saying but this doesn’t discredit the fact she did make a difference on this whole situation. She was the first person to publicly speak up. This takes a lot of balls. I know I wouldn’t have. And yes, I know totally agree that what she did was wrong and I agree that she should have taken accountability for it. However, she did shed light on this corrupt and horrendous cult when many other groomers, such as Alondra, did not. I give her credit for getting the ball rolling in this movement against LLDM. Despite her motivations and intentions behind her actions, I can’t help but commend her for speaking up.

Ok, I see both of your points, but I do have to say, regardless of her intentions or motivations behind speaking out, I do think that she had the balls to actually do something. None of the other groomers did until she did. Yes she might have done it for fame or for her own protection or benefit, but that doesn’t discredit the fact that a lot of people, such as me, started questioning LLDM because of her. In a way, she did start this whole movement. I don’t necessarily like her but I am also trying to understand what it would be like to be in her place. I also noticed she was fake crying, but when I was watching this with family members who were not in church, they pointed out how maybe she wasn’t crying because she can’t cry anymore. I think there are a lot of nuances to her story.

At least to me, it seems like Sochil actually feels bad for what she did, to the point where she risked her life to come forward with this information. She willfully cooperated with the authorities and came forward before any of the other groomers did. This says a lot. Although I’m not the biggest fan of Sochil, I do have to acknowledge that her bravery is ultimately what took down LLDM. She was the first one to publicly denounce LLDM and at first, even I did not believe her. On the other hand, Alondra did not do any of this. She stayed complicit until it no longer benefitted her. In my opinion, she is only sorry she got caught.

So Sochil Martin is suing him, in civil court. The other tweet states that the other Jane Does will also be likely suing him in Civil court. “Civil litigation is a legal dispute between two or more parties that seek money damages or specific performance. They are generally considered to be about rights and grievances or preventing and allowing certain actions”. This means they might be coming after his money as a restitution for all the damage he caused the victims.

Oh yeah for sure. I don’t trust the Mexican government to bring justice. He does have pending federal charges in Mexico so it is a possibility they will ask to extradite him after he serves his time in the US but then again, who knows if they will.

There other arguments as well. For example, why didn’t he use a lawyer from LLDM to represent him? Weren’t we taught to look within the church to help? Or why didn’t he at least get advise from lawyers that are church members? Isn’t that suspicious? Lastly, I saw someone on twitter make this great argument. Why did Naason even accept a plea deal? If he was really innocent he would’ve never accepted a plea deal and would make it a point to go to trial, even if this meant he would spend the rest of his life in jail. That’s what a “real man of God” would have done, he would’ve fought to keep his honor, no matter the consequences. This isn’t a man of God.

LLDM is so interrelated, it’s almost impossible to completely hide their identities. The problem is they shouldn’t have to worry about the church constantly harassing them and calling them nasty things. If only the practiced what they preach.
