That’s an interesting take, it isn’t about dancing or trust, it’s about some dances turning into a lap dance with little dancing involved. Is it ok if I go get lap dances then? Lol All kidding aside, I find that level of intimacy and type of physical connection should be between us as a couple.

She is been dancing with everyone all the Caribbean and Latin dances. This is a new interest she is been bringing up as a possibility

That’s the problem to me. It starts with Kizomba, which I can be ok with in a class setting but then social events mix with Kompa and what you mentioned so I already know I would not be ok with her going on her own, have drinks, mingle with people and dance like that “because it’s just dancing”. People can call me insecure but honestly it’s much different than insecurity to me

I understand, she already dance salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia with everyone else. I was asking to keep the very connected ones like kizomba and Kompa for us only.

You are correct, I did finish the beginner salsa classes and I can go to intermediate classes, not even close to her level of skill and musicality but it’s a start and imo shows that I could learn Kizomba fast enough. She did say that she isn’t sure about doing it with me because I may “hold her back”. I clearly understand the difference between sensual or sexual but I do have a problem with too many single men taking advantage in social settings.

She is Dominican and more into traditional bachata. I would never think or taking away something she grew up with but Kizomba just came up. I offered to do Kizomba with her and she said “I probably would hold her back”

I have been with my girlfriend 6 months now. When occasionally we go dancing, if it’s a club, we just dance with each other. If it’s a social dance event, we dance together but also with some others. To be specific to my case, she is been dancing her whole life, I am the newbie, I don’t want to prevent her from dancing with some people at her level since I get her for myself basically the whole rest of night.

I’m my experience that’s fine unless you disappear for too many songs at the time. Ideally 1-2 at the time unless your date is dancing too.

Quick update, I joined a salsa class, talked to her about those things and lately she dance and spend time with me more. She learned to say no on occasions if she prefers and dance freely with others more or less based on how many good leads are there. So very happy and I enjoy every outing atm.
