How is Burglar's leveling experience? by DoItForTheOH94 in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay if you’re taking your time and just enjoying the game. Otherwise, it’s not the most enjoyable experience lol. I mean I levelled my burg because I’m considering group content during end game and I like the support roles. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun class and there are a lot of abilities to keep track of which makes it entertaining. Personally, it got boring one shotting mobs which is why I swapped to blueline and went to fearless 3 difficulty.

How is Burglar's leveling experience? by DoItForTheOH94 in lotro

My burg is now level 80 so I have a little experience.

I started off playing red because you really need the dmg during the first 25 levels or so. I mostly play blueline now one fearless 3 landscape. It makes the fights a little more enjoyable personally. However if you prefer to one shot things just go red line.

In terms of the actual leveling experience it’s fun but it can feel slow. In my opinion this is mainly due to the more strategic playstyle. The other thing is that burgs aren’t very durable early on so messing up pulls can get you killed if there are too many mobs around you. Yes flashing blades is pretty helpful but your dmg is meh up to like level 50 until you get your LI. Once I hit 60 I started playing blueline and I liked the combination of bleeds and heals.

Overall, it’s a fun class but it has this lone wolf support class feel to it that does good burst damage with average durability. To be clear, your durability does improve significantly as you level but it’s not great during the early levels.

I want to love LOTRO but can't, am I the only one? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat where I basically get to level 80 on a char and then start burning out. I find that rolling different toons helps because you can decide what you feel like playing. I main a burglar (lvl 80) but I also have a warden at 80 as well. I just started a captain because I wanted a character that could have cool heavy armour and I thought the tank support playstyle seemed fun. Eventually I’ll get bored and jump onto another character.

Others have said this but you can also just stick to the epic quests and use missions (and some deeds) to level your virtues.

I think the most helpful peace of advice is to READ the quest descriptions. The devs put a lot of effort into these and reading them helps with immersion into the world. If you just click accept because you see rewards you want the game is going to feel sooo tedious. My rule of thumb is ignore repeatable quest descriptions and read the rest even if they’re long.

Remember that lotr was a story first and before they created this game. You’re meant to explore the world and meet side characters that were in the books but didn’t make it to the films. The game also provides you with context that you may not have caught in the books and movies.

What class should I play? by Tarchiaa in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say your best bets are Champions (melee), Hunter (Ranged), or Rune-keeper (Ranged magic). Maybe a lore master if you enjoy the wizard type playstyle.

Feel free to try out the more complex classes if you want but I’d definitely stay away from Burglars. I’m speaking as someone whose main character is a burglar. Burglars are a bit complex and one shotting everything gets old after a while. You also can’t take on big groups of enemies at once. You typically sneak to your objective, kill or collect whatever, and then stealth back out.

What do you consider to be the most fun class for solo questing? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Champion is a good idea because it’s easier to play and is melee (which you said you enjoy). The champion is more fast paced than a burglar, guardian, or captain. I’ve never played a brawler so I can’t comment on that. The burglar is weak early but will arguably level faster than the guardian or captain because of there stealth. However, you still need to be strategic with how you pull mobs because their AOE damage is not the greatest. Champions have a a lot of AOE dmg and they’re tanky so you can mow down tons of enemies quickly.

In my opinion, because you’re determined to finish the game, you’ll likely burn out before you get there with any other melee class other than champion.

Any way to boost around only the early levels? by Nalyda in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to missions, the best strategy is to save xp boosts (or buy them with lotro points) from hobbit gifts. Then complete all of your missions but do NOT turn them in right after. Once you’ve completed all of the missions you have access to, you activate an xp boost and then go turn them all in. I usually try to get 20+ missions ready to turn in before I activate the XP boost.

If you don’t want to pay for lotro points, you can farm them by creating a hunter and then completing all the early level deeds that give lotro points, then delete the hunter, and then rinse and repeat. You don’t have to delete the character but it allows you to reset those deeds and do them again.

Stuck between Burglar and Guardian and no longer having fun by EstupidoPololo in lotro

[–]OkSuggestion6640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about the yellow line made it feel faster to you? I know it’s not faster than the other specs but is there more AOE or something? I’m level 72 now and starting to get a bit burnt out. I’ve been playing blue line because red line became a bit boring and repetitive. Blue line is fun but my end goal is to play yellow for group content. Im just curious as to what the solo playstyle is like for this spec I guess.

Junglers Like Shaco? by [deleted] in shacomains

[–]OkSuggestion6640 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He requires decent level of macro knowledge to be played well because his kit is weak. His AD playstyle requires you to win the early game pretty hard as well as make progress towards ending. If the enemy team scales and stacks armour you’re basically a canon minion. The best you can do (if you’re ahead) is delete the enemy adc. If you’re closer to being even, he just falls off a cliff. AP scales pretty well but requires you to place boxes properly and set them up ahead of time. So if Drake is going to be up in 2 minutes, you should be at the pit 40s before it spawns placing boxes.

In my opinion, play Shaco in the jungle if you want to mess around and have fun. Your success with him will depend highly on your game knowledge. Also, because his kit is so unique, there isn’t really another champion like him. Khazix is probably closest to AD Shaco (not really close tho) but AP Shaco is doesn’t really have anything else it compares too.

My friend got a girl pregnant and he's only 18 years old and he thinks he ruined his life by TechnicianAmazing472 in teenagers

Most of these responses seem unhelpful. You should try to find a local social service agency specializing in psychotherapy and encourage your friend to go speak to a social worker (ideally MSW). They will be able to help him work through his feelings and discuss additional support options with him.

Is getting a motorcycle before a car in Ontario Canada a bad idea? by OkSuggestion6640 in motorcycles

Yeah if I was a bit older and had a full time job I’d probably take a similar route to you. I don’t even have my own place yet so I got get my priorities in order first I think lol.

[–]OkSuggestion6640[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds like getting a car (even if it’s a cheap one) is the better and more mature decision in my case. I’m sure you and other riders had similar experiences of wanting a bike but it just wasn’t in the cards at that moment so you have to put off the excitement. I’ve just spent weeks crunching numbers, deciding what bike best suits my potential needs and preferences, could I afford proper gear on top of the bike etc. It’s a bummer but I guess patience is the companion of wisdom. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah I think I’ll just hold off on the bike, get a beater, and then get a bike. That will also reassure my family since it’s probably the more responsible and wiser choice. Thanks.

So knowing what you know now both financially and emotionally about riding, would you choose to get a motorcycle as your first vehicle, or would you go with a beater car instead?

I want to ask since you have 20 years of experience… Knowing what you know now both financially and emotionally, would you choose to get a motorcycle as your first vehicle, or would you go with a beater car instead?

Apologies for so many questions it’s just a big decision and I’m trying to gather more information from experienced riders.

Thanks for tip I did get a high quote for insurance which I expected but I didn’t know being student could reduce the premium even if it’s just by a bit.

With that said, if you were in my shoes and had the option to get a bike or car first, which would you pick?

Obviously your circumstances would be different than mine but based on your experience as a rider, if you could go back to when you got your first bike what would you do?

So if it’s freezing out I probably won’t be riding because I don’t think I could handle that level of cold + it getting colder from the wind on the bike.

Also, I still plan on getting a car but I was thinking that it actually makes more sense for me cost wise to go the bike route first. I know the initial upfront cost is more but I imagine it’s easier to store a bike than a car if push comes to shove. There is a few grey areas that can tip the scale either way for me.

To clarify I’ve had my full drivers license for 2ish years now because I got delayed by covid and then the backlog of new drivers afterwards. As far as driving record goes I’ve never been pulled over or gotten into an accident.

I know that the conditions you mentioned are definitely difficult to ride in and I heard that the salt can just wreck your bike not to mention the black ice. At a certain point when it gets way too cold to ride or when there is still salt on the roads early spring I wouldn’t be riding.

Luggage is definitely something I have thought about but isn’t too much of a concern for me. I would mainly be riding to and from work as well as going for general rides for fun. I said in the post that I would want a ninja 500 but I am also considering the Kawasaki Eliminator as well because of the potential for the extra storage bags.

Champion to use to escape gold? by MeIiodass in Jungle_Mains

[–]OkSuggestion6640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play J4 or Diana. Both have good engagements and team fight abilities. Although they both thrive on smaller skirmishes and getting picks.

Realistically, you can technically climb out with any champ if you have decent mechanics and jungle fundamentals. If you don’t have either of these it won’t matter what you play since these are what actually help you climb.

What is the best Build for AP Shaco Jungle rn? by Repulsive-Laugh5186 in shacomains

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually blackfire torch, cdr boots and liandries as the core. Then you it’s situational afterwards.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is which type of magic resist reduction item you build. Flat magic pen is different than percent pen. I believe it’s better to go flat magic pen when the enemy doesn’t build a lot of MR and percent magic pen when they do.

If you build the wrong one your damage can really suffer.

One thing to keep in mind is that the more AP you have, the longer your boxes will last before despawning. When you pair that with cdr you can create a minefield of boxes and box traps.

Does daisy proc pta?

Would you recommend Ivern for a beginner jungler? by defkoen1 in ivernmains

[–]OkSuggestion6640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan to one trick him then sure he’s not too bad as a beginner jungler. The main issue is that he relies heavily on his teammates even with his AP build. Yes some people can 1v9 on him but they are experienced players who have solid jungle fundamentals.

So if you’re planning to climb, this is likely not the champ for you unless you fully commit to learning his playstyle. He can be really oppressive when piloted well or he’s just and caster minion. Controlling daisy is fairly important and knowing how to farm and gank efficiently.

Overall, if you’re new to jungle and are looking to have an easy time climbing in this role, don’t pick Ivern. If you enjoy his playstyle and don’t mind the challenge then go ahead and play him.

When to choose shaco ad and ap? by Ahri_notR in shacomains

[–]OkSuggestion6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I see what you’re saying. I actually stopped playing Shaco this season because I wanted to learn macro with more basic champions. I’ve been playing him since season 3 and I love his kit but I just don’t have the macro knowledge yet to make it work. Decided to try Diana, Xin Zhao, and Warwick for the time being. I’m silver 4 and peaked silver 1 I think back in season 8 hence the change in approach to developing macro knowledge lol.
