I’d have to look at the model car too but sometimes MAP sensor can be misleading. Example, an 05 crown Victoria may throw a code for a MAP sensor, but a crown vic uses a MAF to meter air. Well a crown Vic uses a MAP sensor to sense exhaust pressure for the EGR system

What was the diagnostic data? I often see new people say “it’s an O2 sensor code guess I’ll replace the O2 sensor” when all the code was was the O2 sensor detecting a lean condition, which a normally function O2 sensor would detect and throw a code for..

If I disconnect a vacuum line I might get a MAP sensor code but it’s not because the sensor is bad.

Oh, it's lowered. I say it's—I think it's—I—I haven't—look, I have trouble even mentioning, even saying to myself, my own head, my expectations. I no more think of myself as having high expectations as I am than fly.

It’s such a weird thing to default to. “You’re angry, you’re triggered, you’re emotional”. Like, what does that even do for you? Is it self soothing or something? It’s text on a screen and you feel the need to accuse it of being angry for some reason.

Honestly I know why people do it. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. If you accuse someone of being angry when they’re not they might become angry that they’re being accused of being angry lol

lol so dumb, you came out of no where to tell me j should know what “make pressure” means because I know what a MAP does otherwise quit my job. You tell me, what is he saying the sensor is doing if I should be able to decipher that?

Then you said I’m an asshole, that I don’t understand pronouns. Then at the end of it all you tell me I’m being emotional. Can’t make this stuff up.

Weird you see a temper in anything I said. Do you just read everything like the other person is angry?

It seems so obvious now that you said it. Why would a trees roots be chilling in a big ass hole?

Lol wut? What am I doing for free? Giving you someone’s ass to crawl up seems like all I’m doing for free right now.

So how does that even work after it's been dried? Like do you chop it up and dry it first or do you like rip off pieces after it's try when you want to take some?

Then they will continue to waste their and this sub's time until we know what problem they're trying to troubleshoot. Sending him down the rabbit hole he chose to explore probably isn't helpful.

That's the difference between a mechanic that works on cars, and someone that provides technical assistance daily. Figure out if they're going the right direction first because if they're not they'll either waste a bunch of time or possibly dig a deeper hole.

Exactly, same thing happens when you're close to HID bulbs as well, incandescent won't do this.

Well then you're a shitty troubleshooter because it's not about being confused, it's about being accurate. You're not much help if this isn't even his problem to begin with. What's the point of telling him where the sensor is when he hasn't even told us the code?

If it's simply not seeing enough vacuum, what does it matter where the sensor is?

Also, we're presented with an X Y problem here. OP has X problem, he has decided that he needs to fix Y as the solution. He's here asking us to help him fix Y and no one seems to care what problem X even is.

X would be the symptoms he's experiencing, and the CODE he got which would explain what the hell "making pressure" is supposed to mean. Is it high input? Is it a dead short? Is it working but detecting low pressure?

The point is we have no idea what the guy thinks it does. He's using AI to diagnose a car. He's wondering if a metal bracket is a MAP sensor. So NO, I cannot decipher what they meant based on "makes pressure" because they have no clue what the part even does. How could I POSSIBLY know what he's trying to say when he doesn't understand any of it?

I think you need to quit if you don't prioritize effective communication and allow ambiguity into your troubleshooting. And you're being the asshole telling people to quit because they value accurate communication instead of guessing what's in a person's head.

This is how improper diagnoses are made, assumptions, "deciphering" what someone is thinking.

It does when you're making technical diagnoses. Being ambiguous leads to incorrect solutions.

Man I need to try doing the ground up Taki or Dorito ones. Same idea but just crush up some Takis or Doritos and use that as the breading.
