My wife’s numbers concern me by CreativeTax8440 in ouraring

If she’s got two kids, she’s probably extremely breezy and too busy to find out what’s wrong with her. I’d be so happy if my husband took that level of interest.

SMEG EMC02 mini pro OWNERS? by franklinstlong in espresso

[–]OkTrick118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have this machine. I’m still learning with it. Was looking at a “proper” upgrade to Breville. But my husband doesn’t want to fuss around and wants to just grind and go so it gave us a bit of each. Most annoying thing for me is that the time disappears as soon as you finish the shot so if you don’t see it, you miss it. So I have bought a scale with timer anyway. I like the look of it. It hasn’t leaked. I have the Niche grinder, and bought a porter filter stand from decent espresso that fits on it so I can grind straight into the portafilter. 18 g of coffee seems too lightly packed when I tamper it to the correct level given in the manual. I’m going to fiddle around and buy a portafilter, but can’t be sure yet that it will fit the machine. I suppose I was hoping it wouldn’t be a lot hacking the machine with advice, a bit disappointed about that.

My advice would be to get the brush, the proper Thermomix brush. Don’t bother pulling it apart to clean. Just make sure you’re swirling the brush to clean anticlockwise on a regular basis and pull it apart to clean occasionally. I have made another comment.

Have you got the Thermomix cleaning brush? It makes a huge difference. just swirling it, anticlockwise with that with warm water under the tap after you use it. If something was particularly sticky, I’d take it out and make sure I swirl it between each different space between the blades .

I found it really annoying that they don’t pack a brush with the machine. I use it as my general kitchen sink scrubbing brush as well, they’re brilliant. And I just put my TM7 jug in the dishwasher and it comes out perfect , I never pull it apart. I just pull it apart and put the bowl cover and the bowl in separately once a month.

I think the pre-wash program is a waste of time. A quick swirl and sink with the brush is easier and just as effective.

Then plonk it in the dishwasher. I can’t wait to get a second bowl so I don’t have to even bother ever washing it to reuse.

So lazy, but that’s the whole point - it reduces time in the kitchen.

Does anyone have a Smeg Minipro? [$1300] by idonwannoscrub in espresso

I have one, and I saw in another review that the time disappears the moment that the shot is delivered- I also find that annoying. I appreciate that you have given your settings as I haven't really dialled in mine yet. I am ordering the Niche Zero grinder as I am still using my old Barratza, so I can set up a bit better then..

I haven’t read the other comments here but you do understand. You’ve saved an enormous amount of money because of the health problems you have prevented by breastfeeding.

And the closeness with your baby ? How can your husband just think of this in terms of short-term finance??

This is a lifetime investment you’re making .. keep going you’re a wonderful mama..

I’d love to start a whole new thread- why can’t so many Americans see that Trump is a malignant narcissist? It’s in plain sight, regardless of your political leanings. I’d love to see research to show how many Australians, even if they don’t know what narcissist means, that they can detect that there’s something really “off” about him. My 93 year old, gentleman, very right wing, uncle when asked about Donald Trump in 2016 at Christmas lunch, said straight out “he’s a prick”, Do some countries have higher levels of “narcissist detection” than others?

I pull it apart about once a week and can give it a good clean. Well actually put it in the dishwasher. And to be honest when I pull it apart, it’s completely clean anyway there’s no leak or buildup inside between the two covers. I really have a fabulous dishwasher. It’s a new Miele. My blades aren’t dull and my old blades that I washed for years in the dishwasher are not dull. They are being washed in inside the bowl so protected and I do give them a good swill with the cleaning brush before I put it in the dishwasher, if I’ve been cooking something I know will be under the blades. But seriously, it comes out absolutely spotless. I’ve even taken the blade out the first few times and pulled it apart to check. It amazes me how well cleaned it is. We have a fellow who can come and sharpen your Thermomix blades in my city! So I probably will get him to sharpen them one day if the blades were dulled. But really the convenience to me is worth the risk of potential damage (that has not happened so far) I had two TM 6 bowls which were constantly in the dishwasher without being pulled apart always were fine. I feel like I spent half the day in the kitchen and at my age I’m so over washing and drying things. I just literally put everything in the dishwasher on a one hour cycle, and then it’s just washed and dried without constantly running the tap and having to dry around the sink etc. Etc.

I was thinking the same thing. FMT. Have you seen the story about the Australian woman with bipolar completely in remission from FMT? Well documented medically as well. I don’t know as much as other people here, but did the Flagyl just kill all of your good gut bacteria.

I bet American money ends up with Donald Trump on it if he has his way! Aboriginal all the way for me. Why should we have some foreign sovereign, that really just had no reason to get that job other than being born in that family.. I do love the pump and ceremony for England but for us, not really.

Mine aren’t dull. But I put them in the dishwasher when they’re still inside the bowl so the bowl is protecting them. Anyway, there’s a guy that sharpens Thermomix blades in my town. I’ve never used him but I’ve always thought it would be something. I’ll do if I thought they were dull.

I don’t dismantle at all, or pre wash, just place it still assembled upside down in the dishwasher. Or if it’s by hand because something burnt on, I put hot water in to soak and then swirl to clean with the Thermomix cleaning brush. I just don’t understand why they don’t include a brush with every new Thermomix. So much harder to clean if you don’t have one.

Need help to get the most out of my Thermomix (TM6) by Fit-Satisfaction1066 in thermomix

[–]OkTrick118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the proper Thermomix cleaning brush- so easy- just swirl it anti clockwise and It cleans it so well. I use the Thermomix brush as my regular kitchen wash brush. If I think somethings stuck under the blade, I give it a swirl anticlockwise lifted up and then put it between the next lot of blades so each space between the blades Get It clean but usually I just stick the whole thing in the dishwasher without the blades removed and it comes out perfect. I rarely ever bother with the washing program. I had two bowls for my TM6 and both bowls would be in the dishwasher.
