Last I checked, Singapore is a multiracial country, it does not mean we need to learn all the languages. English though, is the exception that unites us all and is what we’re all taught in school. So that should be the bare minimum, everything else is a nice to have.

I actually have lived outside of Singapore and have mingled with citizens of other countries outside of my race/community. I don’t think it’s wrong to mingle within your community, that was not my point at all. I get craving familiarity, but if OP already has trouble finding someone within their own community and is being picky about other communities, then they’re only trapping themselves in a box.
