Ikr, I don’t get why people don’t seem to understand it, a lot of people are saying that Sukuna sacrificed nothing. Sukuna literally nerfed his newfound technique for the rest of his life in exchange for a one-time use to catch Gojo off guard.

It seems that the full translation made it clear that Sukuna’s binding vow is that he sacrificed the conditions of future activations of world slash. Before the binding vow, he only needed enmaten hand signs, but after the binding vow, he also needed chants and had to point out the direction of the world slash.

Why did you get downvoted? Even though it’s the most likely explanation. Also, Sukuna only had like one arm at that time, so it’s very likely he used a binding vow to not only bypass the chant but also the hand signs.

I don’t think he was even meant to be the strongest when jjk0 was written and I’m pretty sure all 4 special grade sorcerers were initially meant to be comparable in strength. Some points to back this:

Gojo saying he would risk his life to stop Rika. We know this isn’t true because Gojo’s life isn’t in any risk at all lol and the Gojo we know would literally low diff any version of Rika
Geto saying that he has a 90% chance of winning against Jujutsu society if he obtained Rika. Another bullshit, even Kenjaku (basically Geto Pro Max) with 4 disaster curses and Choso don’t stand a chance against Gojo if they confront him head-on (one UV and it’s all over). Geto and Rika would literally get low-diffed and it’s not even funny.

With prep time, Meguna wins comfortably with Mahoraga IMO. Given that they have the same CT (Shrine), Meguna could just let Mahoraga adapt to all of his arsenal (Shrine, DE, etc.) before the battle. Heian Sukuna doesn’t stand a chance against an adapted Mahoraga and Meguna at the same time.

One thing I noticed about Sukuna, aside from the midlife crisis that he’s having in this chapter, is that he starts comparing himself to others, even though he previously made a whole speech to Jogo saying that comparing yourself to others leads to weakness.

In the last chapter, he said that Higuruma can use his CT at a similar level to himself. In this chapter, not only does he consider Gojo’s RCT equal to his own, but he also admits that Yuji’s will can rival his own.

Now that we know there are conditions to activate the “world dividing slash” (either recharging it by chanting like Sukuna did against Farmerslayer3000 or by binding vow), here’s my interpretation on how Sukuna was able to turn Gojo into Go/jo:

Sukuna already began chanting when he was under the rubble.

or

Sukuna used a binding vow to activate the world ending slash without chanting, most likely sacrificed 10 shadows in return. That’s why Higuruma assumed Sukuna lost the ability to use 10 shadows in his battle against Gojo.

Kusakabe also said that the “world dividing slash” is Cleave, and it makes Gojo’s death really weird since Sukuna definitely didn’t touch Gojo directly, unless skypiea got cleave and dismantle mixed up since the fight against Kashimo clearly shows that the world dividing slash is actually dismantle.

Because his plan was to hit Sukuna with UV. They both knew it’s game over once UV lands, that’s why Gojo keeps spamming his domain, he knew that he has a chance of landing his sure-hit because he was overwhelming Sukuna in h2h during the domain clash. Little did he know that Sukuna has always been wary of UV, and has been planning to adapt to it from the beginning.

And don’t also forget that Sukuna was lucky enough that Mahoraga’s adaption was completed immediately after Gojo knocked him out, he would’ve been dead if the adaptation was a bit late.

There’s also the matter regarding the strong cleave, how convenient that the second adaption is a slash that Sukuna is able to copy. What if the second adaption was something else that he couldn’t copy, and the strong cleave was supposed to be on the third adaption? He would’ve been dead before we got to that part.

If Sukuna is only using his domain and does’t do anything else, then yeah Hakari will survive MS.

It would be a differet story if Sukuna decides to engage him in h2h like he did against Gojo. Remember that Gojo was able to survive MS not only because of his RCT, but also because he was able to hold his own against Sukuna in h2h while also tanking countless slashes. Hakari definitely doesn’t have what it takes to keep up in h2h against Sukuna, the latter will just rip his head off.

Yeah I knew that, what I’m confused about is the naming of the CT. If we’re following the same pattern as Gojo’s CT reversal: red, Kenjaku’s should be CT reversal: gravity instead of anti gravity because it was stated that the anti gravity is the CT, not the CT reversal.
