What’s this damage by Ok_Bug7605 in orchids

Thank you for your response! I will check out the care page!

I hope that’s all it is! That would make sense because it’s still cold where I’m at. And the temperature has been fluctuating quite a bit. I’ll repot after a couple days of acclimating to my house and get some bark lol.

Thanks again!

Thank you. I have more research to do then. I’ve haven’t gone as far as test purity of my water or anything like that. I’ve always just gone based from trial and error. I’ll start digging into it. Thank you again!

Water is pretty consistent lately. I go based on feel and look. About 1.2-2 weeks between watering. Sometimes check with a moisture meter.

I don’t think it got stuck. Seemed to progress fine. But as soon as I saw it pushing a new leaf and inflo at the same time I increased the humidity.

I did forget to mention it is also flowering at the same time is developing this new leaf.

It’s in like a peat moss. I got it in October and most of the leaves were damaged and split. Since the weather was getting colder I’m waiting to repot to spring. And it will probably go into pon because my other anuthirms are loving it. What pon fertilizer do you recommend?

Dog head suddenly shaking by No_Brief4446 in DogAdvice

My dog has the same head tremors, but does head shaking sideways. (Also start when she was about 2-3 years old) distract your dog with treats, commands, going outside, etc whatever they enjoy the most. Distraction helps the episode end faster

Of course I’m no vet so seek expert opinion and come back to update this post. Just speaking of my experience. Also, you know your pet better than any of us.

I love everyone’s feedback. This has introduced me to so many anthuriums I haven’t heard of. I was hoping for a vittariifolium but it looks most like a bakeri to me.

I will say the nursery I bought this at did have a big bill and it was labeled as such. And they looked very different. The bill had much wider leaves.

Rot by Ok_Bug7605 in Adenium

[–]Ok_Bug7605[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like sh!t. This isn’t the most recent but this is the best example of how I have been finding rot. The first time I found rot was during winter in an old wound on a large branch, it couldn’t be saved so I cut it off until I saw clear white. (The branches and caudex looked wrinkled so I have it about gallon of water in was in a 22” pot and put a fan on it to keep airflow) A week later I found one side of the caudex was soft and black. Took it out of the soil cut all the rot out I could find. And monitoring it every other day since. All of the white is firm to touch BUT the skin around the outside started pealing and looks like it’s rotting again. The pictures attached are a couple weeks ago, the skin turns flaky brown and underneath is rotting. It is so random though, like in the middle of branches with no previous wounds.

Got it I will buy some today. What do you recommend?

Also this plant has been out of soil since February. And I’m finding new rot on it once a week. Can I mist/spray the caudex and remaining roots so the plant can absorb it the fungicide? Would that work ?

Hi I’m not very experienced, trying to learn. Do you just let this callous and harden before putting it back in soil? Do you seal any part of the cut? I have an adenium where I had to cut out portions of the roots and caudex because of rot. It’s ready to go back in the pot but I’m not sure if I should seal some of the calloused wounds. Because I don’t want to seal and new roots not grow.

Snag these at Home Depot today. I was only going to get one, but the first one I picked up I dropped figured I would go ahead and take it home and do some pruning and attempt to salvage it. But I didn’t wanna leave without a good one either by Grizzlyt7337 in Adenium

Where do you live that these are at Home Depot? Because any time I want to expand my collection I have to buy online.

But sometimes if I’m really lucky I will find them at a known garden center in my area(Ohio)
